The correct sprockets are here finally. So when i get some free time i will get going on the exhaust, chain tensioner, sprockets, and fuel tank mounting. Making the full exhaust from scratch and also the chain tensioner and supporting hardware from scratch also. i finally located a 1 gallon spun aluminum tank that i can use and look decent.

After that some brakes, cables and carburetors she should be rideable before the master tear down for paint and polishing. Gotta go for a spin first to double check everything as i am powdercoating the chassis so i dont wanna redo it for a some little item we forgot to weld on.

Minor update..........

I designed my own camshaft set. Some of the guys on the kz forums across the pond where they are building the cafe bikes with these engines are taking a exhaust side and cutting and milling off the tachometer part of it and installing it in the intake side cause it has more lift. That and i went up from 1 3/8 to 1 1/2 exhaust pipe. So hopefully i can lose some torque and gain some hp.

Whatcha think ? is it gonna work or not ?

And.....................I got me some time to fab the exhaust, coil mount, chain tensioner, and fuel mount so i will get more pics shortly within the week hopefully !

So you have changed the engines camshaft design from a split pattern to a single pattern design, has the lobe centers changed at all with this modification? if so what are the lobe centers if I may ask and duration now?

I don't know the specs exactly. But it lets more exhaust out faster cause the intake side has more duration. I also am using flat slide carbs instead of the bs38's which also adds more volume so I needed to let more out thus using a step bigger exhaust tube size also. I also am building a full electronic high output ignition system for it.

So mods are gonna be..............

Cam mod
Bigger exhaust
High output ignition
And bigger carbs

I have not found any specs on camshafts but its a 1978 kz750b twin if anybody knows anything. They are known for a lot of torque and no hp so trying to even it out a little bit. I know on my racecar stuff its always carbs, intake, headers, ignition, gears first so I'm going off what I know on my street car stuff.

I just called web cam they want $500 to regrind my stock camshafts to my specs. So that just might be the safer route so I know they will be a increase. I'm gonna wait til it's running first so I can dyno it first before and after seems how the engine has very low miles and I know it runs.

Yes indeed, it is better to be safe than sorry for sure, at any rate you will have enough crazy power to have fun with for sure!

finally some free time !

Chain and sprockets installed (still need to design and weld a tensioner )

Coil bracket made and installed

Some switches and wiring installed

Yamaha Banshee Carburetor Boots successfully modified and installed. Now i can use flat slide carbs instead of those tempermental BS38's from the factory.

That is awesome. I like how I'm not the only one building a trike, even though our designs are reversed.

Would love to do a race with you after we're both done.

I'd love to head down there myself, head to the 405 just so I can see that pretty --- Crow and Murder Nova up close. Wish I still had my T/A I'd race them, just to lose lmao.

How many hp is your engine anyways?

Factory calls for 55hp and more on the torque side. Trying more hp and less torque tho. I would like 80hp to the tires.

I have a question Joe, I was wondering how much heat is going to radiate back towards the rider as the trike moves forward from the cylinders and heads? I have never drove anything like your trike I was just curious.

That's the question i been wondering also. Hopefully it wont be any worse than riding the bike normally. Still in the same spot just sit lower. And i think i'm gonna wrap the exhaust also if it gets too bad. I don't think i will have to tho.

And to poboy............... :censored: :lolgoku:

So im to the point where i need opinions on engine painting or not...............

going to be blue frame, polished wheels, black exhaust, maybe black gas tank with pinstriping and the name on it, and engine valve cover and all side covers polished.

That being said should i just degrease the engine and leave it natural or paint engine black. And i have Gunk brand engine degreaser or is there a better way since this thing has been sitting so long.
