Drove my kart today, went really well. I have about an hours more work to do on it until its done but it goes pretty fast. I still have to hook up the brake pedal and fix the steering arm as it is to thin and bent, im going to make a new one out of thick bar tomorrow and then put that on and drive it. The brake will take about 30mins to do. Ill have a better video of it driving 2morrow. The back left tire was to flat and i didnt notice so half way through the video u see me look at the tire then stop as it was almost about to come off. I pumped it back up and its good to go.

Yep, this kart was a pretty cheap kart.
Disc and caliper= $180AUD
Clutch= $65AUD
Sprocket and holder= $60AUD
Chain= $15AUD
Wheels= dad paid
Axle= Free, dads mate made it for me for free as dad helps him out all the time.
Steel= Free
Steering= Free
All nuts and bolts= dad paid for it all.

God dads are good. XD

So all up for me it was $320
All up together it was about $500

I spent way to much and i learnt the hard way on the wheels but o well.

If 2hp goes heaps fast just imagine how fast 6.5hp would be. Just food for thought.

Nice Job!

Excellent work. Just make sure you get a floorboard welded on the frame. None the less, great work. We have a 2.5hp on our kart but are now getting ready to install a 6.5hp. The 2.5 seems fast enough for a parking lot though!:cheers2:

Hp doesnt affect speed, it affects acceleration and torque. If you got a 6.5 you would just get to your top speed faster.

I was kind of thinking he would change the gearing to roughly match the 2.5s acceleration but if not he would at least have loads more torque.
