About month or two ago Harbor Freight had a sale and I got the "Auto Darkening Welding Helmet with Blue Flame Design" Item # 91214 And used when making a stand for a bandsaw, I was shocked that it worked so good. BTW this unit does not recharge the batteries, once the batteries are dead...

    Auto Darkening welding helmets

I got a cheap off brand from eBay about 7 or 8 years ago, had a solar panel, battery, and knob on the side for adjustment, I got flashed so many times I threw it in the trash :censored: Then a little later I tried another eBay auction for a speedglas auto darkening lens that fit into a...

Fix one up or build one?

I have a small workshop, tools, and I have been collecting plans, and doing a lot of forum reading over the last few months, here are the problems I ran into. (1) Cost of parts may be more than buying used, and even new sometimes. (2) Availability of parts, stuff like some of the comet...

    semi-automatic transmission

The GY6 motor that's on a lot of Chinese ATVs, scooters and go-carts, has a CVT Transmission that is like Comet torque converter, the GY6 CVT has a driver and a driven pulley, both are removable, but from what I have seen they fit onto a shaft that has splines. BTW the GY6 is a clone of a...

    helix 150cc

I think it has a motor similar to the GY6, if so, here are a few of things that will keep fuel from getting to the carburetor. Fuel tank height, some fuel pumps need the gas tank to be above the carburetor. Vacuum line not hooked up, or installed incorrectly, here is a link with some...

I made a Truck bed mounted winch

This was the reason I mounted it up higher. I used washers on both sides, I have used it about five times, works pretty good, only problem I had, was once the wire got tangled up, I think it was my fault, not enough tension on the wire when rewinding it, but other than that I like it.

    low quality pics?

I was referring to the image sensor size, you can have a 14mp image sensor that is small, and it actually has 14 million pixels, but the image sensor is so small that the image quality suffers, that's how most point and shoot cameras are, if it was image interpolation, and you had a 7mp...

    low quality pics?

I do some armature photography, one thing I have noticed is that they bump up the mega pixel rating, and it is a larger image, but the quality of the image is the same, or even sometimes less, than an older lower mega pixel rated camera, sometimes the camera's on-board software acts funny...

    power outage?

I live out in the woods, in Arkansas, we lose power a lot, few times a month, it's normally out a few hours, but a few years back, there was an ice storm and we had no power for three months. We have one store bought generator, one homemade generator, an inverter with wires that can run out...

    Cheap sandblasting.

It looks like its just manly sand and stuff with silica in it that causes all the problems, from Google searching it seams that glass beads are non toxic, non hazardous, chemically inert and Non flammable, should be safe with just a dust mask and face shield, should be LOL. That is odd...

    Cheap sandblasting.

From what I have read you need a forced air full face helmet and air filter system, and then what about dust in your clothes and on everything around you, and then other people, pets and so on, sand is just to dangerous. Here is the Wikipedia page on Abrasive blasting

    How to bleed disk brakes

I dont think this will help, but, I spent almost a week, or what felt like a week trying to bleed a brake system, nothing worked, I would bleed it down and the brakes never worked, no pressure at the brake pads. Then I read about putting brake fluid in the reverse way, putting brake fluid...
