Cant you just wear a good dust mask?

From what I have read you need a forced air full face
helmet and air filter system, and then what about dust in
your clothes and on everything around you, and then
other people, pets and so on, sand is just to dangerous.

Here is the Wikipedia page on Abrasive blasting

so glass beads are not health threatening?

It looks like its just manly sand and stuff with silica in it
that causes all the problems, from Google searching it
seams that glass beads are non toxic, non hazardous,
chemically inert and Non flammable, should be safe
with just a dust mask and face shield, should be LOL.

That is odd, because they make glass from sand, I guess
that heat or something in the glass making process changes
the silica, strange.
