What's wrong with the pics?

If they're blurry... check your autofocus and/or macro mode

I do some armature photography, one thing I have
noticed is that they bump up the mega pixel rating,
and it is a larger image, but the quality of the image
is the same, or even sometimes less, than an older lower
mega pixel rated camera, sometimes the camera's on-board
software acts funny, or even the camera its self is buggy,
but no, the memory card should not affect the image,
sometimes however the memory card may be to slow
for movie recording or for taking rapid camera shots.

I would reset the settings to default, put the camera in
auto, hold the camera still, press the button down half
way, to let the camera focus for a second, then finish
pressing down to take a picture, if that works good,
it may have had settings setup kinda funky.

Thats the better version of the camera I have. Check the ISO, aperture, and and exposure settings to make sure they're on auto and not manual.

There's no way in hell your camera takes low lux photos as well as an SLR.

Interpolated photos is the term you're looking for :) 14MP camera/camcorders are all over teh ebais. Complete wastes.

I was referring to the image sensor size, you can
have a 14mp image sensor that is small, and it
actually has 14 million pixels, but the image sensor
is so small that the image quality suffers, that's
how most point and shoot cameras are, if it was
image interpolation, and you had a 7mp camera,
the camera basically just adds 7 more mega pixels
to the image to make it a 14mp image.

My fz35 is 12mp with a 1 /2.33in CCD and takes excellent pics.
