I have a tractor with a scraper (what I built the track with) my problem is getting it packed down. Soaking it with water helps. I need a lawn roller or something LOL!

I have one of those Predator Harbor Freight engines on the way. Replacment for the blown up Tecumseh in my kids Yerf Dog. Should be here in a few days. I'll post a reveiw at some point.

Definatly junk in the tank. Just ran it a bit. Bumps and corners made it bog down. Idling and shaking the kart back and forth cleared it up. Another run around the yard and another bump got things sloshing about in the tank and "whatever it is" hit the pick up again and she bogged down...

Sorry, probably should have started a new thread LOL!. New plug & mag. Just went and looked again this morning and the choke rod is gone....so there's a hole in the side of the carb. The butterfly was removed at some point and the rod was left in place to "plug the hole"....now the rod is AWOL...

No choke. Same symtoms w/o the air filter. I'm betting on more gunk in the tank. It was clear, now it's not (kind of a dark amber color now).

Tried the loose gas cap trick. Nada. It's a briggs 5.5 and the carb draws directly from the tank....no gas line. May have to pull the carb off anyway.

Adding to this thread a bit... Mine does the same thing (stalls when you press the gas) but only when hot! I flushed the tank and added fresh gas and a dribble of seafoam (about two cap fulls, about a week ago). Runs like a scaled cat until it warms up then bogs down and then will only idle...

The nut on the end of the crank is tight (not sure about the one behind the steering wheel though LOL!) Still wobbles. Feels like a bushing is shot. I planned on replacing it along with the chain and sprocket.

Shifting the engine...um, didn't know I could do that! Thanks! The chain has been broken a few times already....judging by all the spliced links. Also, the clutch wobbles around just a bit. I think that's what causes the buzzing noise.

Throttle linkage kit bashed together with original parts and a bell crank I got off Ebay. Yes, the angle is a bit funky but it works and doesn't bind! The uber-loose chain and clutch Tightening it any more and it won't fit (to tight). I plan on replacing the whole clutch, chain and sprocket in...

Update for today.... Got the throttle connected. Bypassed the governer and now the gas pedal works as it should. Went for a spin around the yard and boy is this thing fast! Way faster than the kids can handle so I think a throttle stop (that can be removed quickly for a more exhiliratingly...
