PVL flywheel + ignition came in, but I still need to get a piston stop and degree wheel.

Lol alright. It's on a Max-Torque clutch, I wanted a torque converter but figured it wouldn't fit on a one wheel drive system (idk what it's called I just know it's not live axle lol)

I put the washers, but was too excited to wait for the spray. Man it makes so much compression, it really makes you tug on it to start. Absolutely screams, I love it. Next up I think I'm gonna go ahead and get that flywheel you linked. I wanna get a little more RPM outta this thing without it...

Ok, so I finished putting the engine together and realized that the thinner head gasket causes my valves to be open all the time. How do I adjust the valves?

The head gasket came in. What do I torque the head to?

Wow, I figured the rod was the breaking point, but I have heard from some other members that the stock flywheel magnet is kinda sketchily glued on. I've heard the stock exhaust was better for low end scavenging or something along those lines due to it's backpressure. Thanks for giving me more...

Also, do you recommend running a straight pipe (specifically, this one)? I'm not too much of a believer in these "upgraded intakes" as the original looks pretty solid other than the big plastic box around it.

I’ve taken the carb apart and have found the attached drill bits around my house. Will any of these work? I ordered the head gasket, but I don’t know how to advance timing other than with a new flywheel. Maybe just by moving the magneto?

Guys, the predator was on sale again for 130 and I finally went and bought it. They only had one left, which was a HEMI, but oh my lord does it pull like a mf compared to my briggs. The torque is just crazy. I know @BrownStainRacing shared a vid saying the HEMI is less upgradable, but even in...

    How do I adjust governor

I just bought a copper gasket, thanks for the tip.

    How do I adjust governor

Here's a pic of my cam. While I have you guys here, is it worth it to replace 28 year old rings on an equally old engine? I know the rings are probably super worn, but I figure the cylinder is also really worn out so I just figured I wouldn't really get much more compression out of replacing rings.

    How do I adjust governor

Yeah, I have a 4 stroke chainsaw where the rope will basically rip out your hand at the speed of light lol. I'll have to look into this compression release, thanks for the info guys.

Well damn, maybe I shouldn't blow it up then. Where would this compression release be? It is an ancient briggs

    How do I adjust governor

Wait are you saying it's supposed to make 60 when I pull the rope?

    How do I adjust governor

I've been running it for some time completely ungoverned with absolutely no upgraded parts. I'm kinda just waiting for it to blow as it only makes 60psi compression, and I figure the cylinder is all worn out. Don't really see a point in spending money on it if it's making low compression.

Do you have a link to that? I think you're right on the store to store basis, but I just wanna make sure.

So you're saying the predator is faster, but blows up like a mf?

Really?? Maybe I should just run a predator and clean up the Briggs. I was thinking about dumping a bunch of money into it over the summer but maybe not. Don't wanna blow a classic engine. Although, the predator deal is over :(:(:(
