Sorry, I just have to jump in here.....It is true that too high an RPM can blow chinese parts ( flywheel etc.) but, and I mean But that ain't the whole story. Billett rods and flywheels are too damn expensive, so if you can't afford them, how do you balance that with safety. On My arachnid I have a HF 420...... removed oil sensor and all governor parts.......added heavy valve springs, ,champion rockers arms, chrome moly push rods, mod 2 twister camshaft. All those items add some RPM,,,,,,heres my but.......But I keep them in a safe RPM range by using a jetted STOCK Carburetor.
No Mikuni.......so I have more power , more torque, but the stock carb limits the available rpm...........ergo I may not have the fastest top end, but since I built this thing for off-road , I have grunt, and since I don't expect to race,,,,,high RPM is not my goal.......
Expensive billet rods and alum flywheels are only necessary if you PLAN on screaming the motor ! my 03 cents worth
something to think about.........................PLEASE DON'T FORCE THE NEW GUYS AWAY FROM THIS FUN WITH $$$$$$$$ NECESITIES.
