    Torque converter sprocket location?

How do you know the jackshaft is bent? Not saying it cannot be but they are pretty difficult to bend since the stress on the sprocket is so close to the t/c plate. I would shim out the sprocket on the jackshaft and them put the driven on to make sure you still have enough shaft to get the nut...

    Please Help Identify this Kart

Side note, if it has a Briggs on it then it was made prior to 1999 because in 2000 Briggs no longer would sell engines to fun kart manufacturers because of product liability insurance. All the manufacturers had to switch over to Tecumseh. Who do you think was the biggest small engine...

    Please Help Identify this Kart

Send me your e-mail and I will copy the brochure to you with the various body karts they had in 1994. The body cars all started with a model number 703, 713, 723, or 783. I am not smart enough to figure out how to get a picture on the site but I agree with you it would be how the body was...

    Please Help Identify this Kart

We use to provide them with the clutches and I have a lot of their brochures. It looks very close to the American Express Model 225-02 but the side bars throw me off. They were the biggest of the fun kart manufacturers out of Fort Wayne, IN. The brochure I have has 15 models for the 1994...

    West Bend 820 Questions

Do you plan on putting on a go-kart or a mini-bike? Are the threads on the end of the crank right hand or left hand? I have one that is right hand threads that takes a 5/16- 24 bolt but have been told that a some of the new ones are left hand thread. Tuff finding a fine thread left hand bolt...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

I would do the tubing to slide over the axle.. It means taking it all apart after you put it together the first time to cut the tubing to the exact length you measure when you get all the pieces in line. The tubing you use is electrical conduit. Yes, it is a lot of work but worth it. The...

    Sprockets

What size are the tires from the ground to the top of the tire? Then give me the sprocket sizes on the other side from the torque converter. Tell me if you live in a hilly terrain or very flat. Lastly is the driver yourself or do you want to put young people on the kart? I can give you some...

    West Bend 820 Questions

Most of the 820 had a step crank. The one in your picture looks to be a straight crank. Measure the crankshaft size and let me know if it is 3/4" or 9/16" that will tell me a little more so the info will be correct.

    Torque converter sprocket location?

Wire brush the splines real good and if you can take the sprocket off that you think has the splines in it just to verify. If they are in there then clean those out on your drill with a wire brush also. The keyway in the sprocket carrier if it has splines really confuses me. But you never...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

Got plenty of decals, what clutch do you need springs for--an SS (six shoe) or the 9 spring Draggin Skin. Let me know the engine you are putting the clutch on so I can tell you the best spring to use. There 5 different springs of the SS clutch. We offer light shoes and heavy shoes depending...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

Don't spend money you don't need to. Make sure it will roll nicely on a flat surface. Yes, grind off the weld so you can remove the sprocket. Send me the sprocket and I will make a new hub for it that will have the 1/4" keyway and a set screw hole over the keyway. Your only cost on it is the...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

The axle most likely is all the same size but the sleeve or tube that it is going into is a little larger in diameter. The tube is there so hair or a long scarf cannot wrap around it. The tube is a safety device put on karts in the late 1990's. You have half the battle won by moving the axle...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

Ideally you want to get that sprocket as close to the inside frame as possible which will help on your torque converter. The chain going to the axle isnormally on the inside of the rear sprocket next to the frame where you can see the splines right now. The way it was in your early picture is...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

You should have about the same amount of shaft for the axle on either side of the frame. See if your axle is walking out to the left. Now is the time to get that back before you have a major problem. The spline is working it way out of something and you don't want a lock collar on it to screw...

More bottom end than add a larger rear sprocket on the kart. Azusa Engineering in CA makes some bigger axle sprockets.

    Torque converter sprocket location?

Just so more comments based on your pictures. Give me the diameter of the tire from the ground to the top of the tire. Take the time and count ALL the teeth on the rear sprocket. I just don't like how far out the tire is from the frame. if you were to cut a corner to sharp and hit the tire...

    Torque converter sprocket location?

It can be moved if it is not welded to the axle and you want to make sure the axle has the 1/4"keyway extended far enough. I certainly would like a couple more pictures to include looking down at the axle with the keyway showing. It certainly would help on your alignment right now because you...

    Looking for a unicorn horn

Martin Sprocket makes a 9 tooth but the bore is a 1/2" (41B9) . Opening up to 3/4" and putting in a keyway takes away from the structural strength which might crack the sprocket at the keyway. You will not know until you try it.

    Torque converter sprocket location?

I have never seen one mounted like that and the problem with it that fall out on the shaft is you will bend the 3/4" jackshaft. The sprocket is normally on the back of the plate of the T/C. If you can move the axle sprocket I would certainly do it. Give us a few more pictures to see if it is...
