Picked up a Couple of Karts - Help with Centrifugal Clutch Belt Drive

I commented that IF the tires were larger than 15" than you should go with a t/c . I can see that the pulley the clutch is going to is almost twice the size of the clutch pulley so it is closer to 6 inches than it is to 3". I am just saying for the cost of BX belt it is worth the try. If he...

    Identify this TC

Snaker -- since I am the owner of Max-Torque and WE put the label on the driven unit which tells the direction it has to be mounted the majority of the time I can identify when it is done correctly. A series 20 normally should be mounted in the opposite direction so the driver and the driven go...

    Biggest engine for Yerf-dog 3203

Check the crankshaft size. You will find they don't make many clutches in the 1" size with sprockets that work very long before they need replacement. Just depends on how much money you want to put into it. Just food for thought.

Picked up a Couple of Karts - Help with Centrifugal Clutch Belt Drive

    Commercial kart and wet clutch

The engine is a GX270 (not a 70) and you are right it is HEAVY kart. If you get too big on the tires the clutch cannot handle it and you best think about taking off the wet clutch system and switching to a torque converter. But then you are going to find the real problems-everything inside the...

Clutch didn’t engage in steep hill

You want to have or close as possible to a 1:6 gear ratio. The sprocket going to the axle, lets say it is a 10 tooth #41 chain sprocket so the sprocket on the axle should have 60 teeth. For every tooth on the small sprocket there should be 6 teeth on the rear sprocket. If you rear tire is...

Know a few things about clutches and torque converters, and can give constructive advice when asked. I own Max-Torque, the oldest of the clutch manufacturer out there, and have the most copied clutch design.
