    Dyno Cams

Seems like it would be a very interesting place to visit. Are they open for walk in retail business, or are they just mail order only?

    Yerf Dog 3202 New Project

If the measurements are right, I would buy the prefabricated swing arm.

I recently orderded a belt for my go cart. I measured from center to cemter like required and got 67/8 and driven pulley at 7 inch. Also is asymmetric

Pull both the driver and the driven clutches off. Lay them on the floor. Put the belt around them, and pick them up together and put them on their respective shafts at the same time. You can't just slip the belt over the clutches while they are in place.

Good Moderate Cam Upgrade For Predator 212

That is a pretty neat invention. For sure more than one way to skin a cat. Almost looks like it could be used with a non stock flywheel, like an ARC. If I can pull start these things ( at my present state in life ) well then clearly almost anybody can. Been a couple of years, but took my...

Good Moderate Cam Upgrade For Predator 212

If you're looking for more power without the governor it's going to be found in the upper rpm range. Billet rod and flywheel are a must ( in my opinion.) Not just for safety, but when one comes apart from revving too high, it usually destroys a lot of parts. So if you want to build an engine for...

    Oldminibikes going to paying-members-only?

Just went there, and was able to post. Looks like that massive space thing is affecting all current posts. All the text shows up way down at the bottom.

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

3/8 to 1/2" is more than enough. On a couple of my karts, the chain is no more than 1/8" from the back side of the driven clutch. With decent sprocket alignment, in my experience the chain doesn't move side ways very much. Maybe not at all.

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

On this kart I think I did. It's been 6 years ago, so not sure. Looking at my.photo,. It doesn't look like the downward bolts went straight into the engine plate slots. On a second kart ( A Tomberlin Firefox ) that had a 6hp. Mitsubishi engine and presented the same problem, the downward bolts...

    Sprocket help!

Might be easier to apply force if you can get the axle ( the whole shebang ) off of the kart. Pull the motor, pull the wheels, pull the bearings. What ever it takes.

    Sprocket help!

Don't worry about saving the sprocket. It was worn out a LONG time ago. Save the hub if you can by using a scrap piece of 2 X 4 between the hub and a very large hammer.

    Hola

Hey man, you said you were from Mexico. We responded to you in Spanish. What is this other bull s%it language you are answering us with. Do you want help or not. We aren't looking to be jerked around. Keep it in English or Spanish. And like I told you in post # 5, you'll get more help if you are...

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

Yes, two different bolt patterns. The ones that go down into the karts motor mount allow for and aft movement. The ones that go up allow for side to side movement. All of the slots have a shoulder milled into them to keep the bolt heads from turning when you are tightening the nut. I don't think...

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

Going to try to clear up any confusion about the usefulness of this plate. Just so happens that I am switching engine on one of my karts that I use the plate on. Plus I got a smartphone yesterday ( Pancho enters the 21st century) and maybe can post a picture. You can see how the slots allow...

Anyone ever try an Affordable Bender?

My thoughts exactly. I think the only tube benders I've seen were in muffler shops. The steel on that thing just doesn't look thick enough to handle real steel tubing. I wonder if in their Chinglish translation, they didn't mix up electrical conduit with tubing bender.

    Project Stoopid!

Hack, your shop, and your machining abilities are ( in my opinion ) WAY above the average member on this forum. The guy that built the miniature Ferrari is the only other one I can think of in your league. Keep the pictures coming. Super interesting.

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

Spark, you are absolutely right about sprockets available with different shoulder widths ( as I pointed out in post #6.) That could fix it, if he leaves the driver as is. If he moves it inward as recommended by JimD, then it will take more than a different sprocket to rectify the misalignment.

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

I have used this plate for bolting on predator 212 and 224 cc engines onto large 2 seater karts that previously had engines with longer crank shafts. I needed to use them because the short shaft wouldn't allow proper sprocket alignment. The exact problem the O P is experiencing. I really don't...

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

If you move the driver closer to the engine as recommended in post #8 ( good idea ) your alignment problem will be worse. Probably an inch to an inch and a half. In this case go to the OMB Warehouse, or Go Power Sports website and find their aluminum motor plate. It's a half inch thick and bolts...

Help With Pulley Alignment on predator 212 / YD3203

If that is not a spacer, and is part of the sprocket, there are sprockets available with different shoulders. Or you could have it milled down. There's nothing you can do on the engine end. The shaft of the predator is too short. I've been down this road on 2 or 3 karts. Move the driven over...
