Adding fuel gauge to shallow tank

Just refill the tank after each use. That way it is always full. How old is your Grandson? If he's old enough to go riding unsupervised by himself, he's old enough to refuel the kart. Most karts don't have fuel gages.

Silver Fox and a Bald Guy

You are running a stock carb. When you are through with using it for the day, shut off the gas and let the engine die from starvation. You shouldn't have any leaks that way.

Two Seat To One Seat Conversion

Master Hack said exactly what I was going to say. Just put a U-joint in the shaft and angle the steering column to the center. If you like rack and pinion that's on there now, I sure as h@ll wouldn't trade it for anything from Amazon. FWIW, bought some rear view mirrors for my little buggies...

Torque Converter not opening up when wheels are on the ground.

I'm with Jim. I think they shipped you the next size bigger belt by accident. Do you have the belt oriented properly? Almost looks like you have the flat side out. Maybe just the picture. Flat side needs to be in on the engine side. About 7 inches really isn't close enough. Go on the belt chart...

Silver Fox and a Bald Guy

Didn't watch the video. Don't need to. In the picture of post #43 the one on the left is correct. You CAN'T put it together wrong, at least as far as the winding goes. That is determined by the winding of the spring. That is why the reverse wound spring is necessary. All 40 clutches come wound...

    Lifan 9hp Electric Start

Agree, the weight of the big block engines is quite a bit more.

    Lifan 9hp Electric Start

Do you already have another engine? Certainly not impossible to cut a new set of slots in the motor mount plate, or change it altogether. This just might be me, but if I can buy a brand new Predator 420 ( 13 hp ) with electric start and a warrantee for $379, I kinda doubt that you'll get what...

    New Builder and New Member

Welcome to the forum. Buying the frame and building it from there is the way to do it. Building a kart from scratch is a lot harder and a LOT more EXPENSIVE than most people imagine. Good luck with your project. Also, buy a used frame.

Starting Point For Idle And Main Jets

Every engine I own needs to be choked to start, hot or cold. I wouldn't worry about it. Concentrate on throttle response and reading the plug.

Good Moderate Cam Upgrade For Predator 212

Great plug for Go Power Sports. I have always been treated very good by them. So glad to hear that it worked out for you.

    Coleman 196 Help

No! What I'm trying to tell you is that your tank is fine, as is. The adjustments to the float mechanism are miniscule. You're probably looking at increments of 1/16" to 1/8". Probably need a small set of needle nose plires.

Predator 212 gov delete support mods

Parts for your 212 hemi are EXTREMELY plentiful. Rod, cam, flywheel, carb, springs, stainless steel valves, ect. ect. ARC is the best that money can buy. You say ( kind of snipedly ) that you are not some kid trying to rev his engine to the moon. That certainly isn't the way you have been...

Predator 212 gov delete support mods

If you don't change the flywheel ( and the rod ) just keep the stock valve springs in there. That 5400 to 5500 rpm range where they start to float is about as fast as the factory stock pieces will handle.

    Coleman 196 Help

One of my karts has an aluminum fuel tank mounted up above the engine ( similar to the one pictured). No issues with too much pressure.

Belt location looks right on. Once the clutch gets spinning and the sheeves start closing, it will all work out.

    Coleman 196 Help

Make sure you bend the right ( tang ). But yes, that is how you adjust the float level. You want it to " float " up, and shut off the fuel supply sooner.

    Coleman 196 Help

Not being sarcastic. Put the factory carb back on. The Chikuni carbs ( what you have ) have a history of being problematic. The float level may be set too high, allowing too much gas in the bowl. Especially since it's only on acceleration. Just because it's new doesn't mean it's set properly.

    Our Yerf 3202

That is the same one I bought. I don't see why it wouldn't work. The motor mount plate having 6 slots, is set up to use the standard Y D jack shaft assembly. It probably isn't wide enough ( the slots ) for a big block. Can't tell from the picture. Big blocks have a wider footprint.

    Our Yerf 3202

You need a 40 series torque converter for the 390 engine. I bought my 40 series at OMB Warehouse, the plate version. Have used it on a built 301 as well as a built 420. Very happy with it. Not one single problem. Plus they include the reverse wound spring in the setup. Good product.

    Yerf Dog 3202 New Project

I get that there's no replacement for displacement. But the predator 420 if massaged a little bit puts out a real good punch. $379 and comes standard with electric start. Tons of hop up parts, and FWIW, I have pull started mine ( before I got the battery ) and it's pretty well built. Happy camper.
