My mechanical, paternal and survival instincts say do not let young sprocket ride alone until he (and his Mom) proves they can keep the gas and oil topped up before starting the engine. Adding fuel and oil to a hot engine are not easy or safe for non-mechanical operators.

I assumed you knew about alignment angles, seeing that other frame. I just felt the need to mention it because the square tubing is so tempting to weld the spindles straight up.

I do not think cutting tie rods is going to get you where you need to be. You will need to cut and reweld that rack and the housing, too. The pinion (steering shaft) is close to the mounting bracket, so moving it will be a semi-major surgery.

Does it not have the governor? I'm confused, so I ask... How can the carb act as the throttle stop when there is a long spring between the carb and the throttle cable/stop?
