I've found some engine exaust heat recovery reserch of Taiwanese institude,surely much more you can find in english,heat direct to boiler is more efficient,less loss than another form of facilities

I just found out the combination could be practical guess you guys like steam works,an oscillating cylinder steam engine easily build for most DIY people Could be useful for bike travelers to cook or warm up when it is cold,outback long trip should tow a trailer to collect something can burn
