tecumseh flathead vertical to horizontal conversion

i may run a small line to the valve area from the screw in galley plug, not sure its necessary yet. i will make an area above the main bearing on the pto side to collect more oil, there will be plenty of splashing going on to fill it. i made a intake adapter/riser out of some two inch aluminum i...

tecumseh flathead vertical to horizontal conversion

i'm converting a tecumseh 6.75 horsepower vertical flathead from a craftsman mower to horizontal. it has an oil pump so it is ideal i think. i started to talk about this in my build thread for my kart but figured i'd start a motor thread since its always talked about. I opened it up to see...

Got a kart, but with a few problems.

that thing moves good once it gets up on the pipe! it should be terrifying(:wai:) with some higher ratio sprockets! you could run some smaller diameter front tires on the rear to raise the final drive ratio, if you have a half inch extra clearance. i don't have experience with direct drive...

my friends super wheels had the single upright steering too. one bearing came apart trying to get it out so i welded a washer that fit good to the inside of the outer bearing race. a couple good whacks from the other side and it came out. i also used a piece of 3/4 inch steel conduit over the...

    Frame ID?

i just restored an old carter brothers super wheel and it has many of the same features, live axle in a tube, adjustable seat and the side bars. same steering wheel mount too. if its a 4 3/4 inch drum brake and 3/4 inch axle that would be my best guess. only carter used the 4 3/4 drum i think...

Keep band or upgrade to disc brakes?

get a dirt bike front brake caliper and master. fronts are bigger. you can find them on ebay cheap together. you'll have to do some fab work but you'll save cash.
