    Spider carts Grand Daddy build

Wow, awesome cart!! I wish I had your skills and tools. Is your gas tank still mounted in it's stock location? It looks like it's raised to me and that's what I'm trying to do with mine. I've built 2" "C" brackets out of 3/4" x 1/8" steel flat bar to mount the tank up a little, but they keep...

    picked this up today?

Yeah, looks like part 402 in the diagram is the original bracket that holds the driven unit.

YD3203 new tires + snow driving = stiff chain

Hey Guys, I ordered new tires- Kenda Scorpion K290's - rear 18x9.5x8 & front- 14.5X7-6 a couple weeks ago before the big snow that we got slammed with here in Baltimore, MD. We got almost 30" a couple weekends ago. So Friday night before it got to deep I took the kart out to see how she did...

    slimer wants reverse

Cool green color! Those big rear tires will probably help put a little cushion in the ride.

Snow storm didnt stop me! Video

Nice! I did the same last Friday night 1/22 hear in Maryland. Fun stuff, but I didn't have ski goggles and my safety glasses kept fogging up so I didn't stay out long.

    built 3203 yerf dog gearing?

Nice! I just ordered and installed Kenda Scorpion K290's, 18x9.5 and they were only $85 for the pair delivered. They hooked up really good in the snow we just got here in Baltimore!

Gear Ratio? Big Kart, Big Tires, Small Engine

I agree. I have a YD3203 that is supposed to weigh just over 300 lbs. and I usually ride it on the street with my 2 kids so our total weight is around 300. I have a similarly moded Predator 212, my governor is still in and I'm running a 6.667:1 (9T JS x 60T axel gears) on 20" tires. The kart...

    lol i was bored..

Awesome fastion420! Looks and sounds nice. I like your tach and the fact that you were able to extend the wire. I'm going to order one, extend the wire and mount it up front as well. Looking forward to a video with the 8T on. :)

Here is what I have experienced driving my YD3203: Driving down the road at 25 mph+ when I hit a bump or patches in the road the front end jumps around a bit. It is hard to drive with one hand because it can jump so much if you hit an uneven or big bump. I'm hoping hydraulic shocks up front...

YD3203- I need help with- new tires? ackerman? shocks?

Thanks ezcome-ezgo! Good point about turning on an arc. I purchased some thick 1 1/4" angle iron like this-14 guage+plated+steel+slotted+angle, that I'm planning to use to move the tie-rod mounting point on my kart. This isn't the lightweight stuff that you mount your garage door opener with...

YD3203- I need help with- new tires? ackerman? shocks?

Thanks guys! I understand the concept of Ackermann and what's it's supposed to do. The part I'm having trouble with is that I'm going to move the tie-rod attachment point in 1" and then shorten the tie-rod by 1" so how will that change the angles of the wheels? I made the following diagram...

3 boys and a dad... all the tools, first go-kart

Personally I like seeing what other people are doing. I'm not sure I'll ever buy a welder and get this advanced, but maybe I'll make small modifications to the kart I have. Keep the pictures and details coming. :)

    built 3203 yerf dog gearing?

These are both B Type- the gear is on one side rather than centered. I made that work for my kart using 1 or 2 small washers, but I had to grind a slot on the inside of the washer to make space for the key stock. I didn't see any C Type w/ 8 teeth. OMB type...

    built 3203 yerf dog gearing?

What is your goal? More top end or better low end? Your current gearing shows that you could hit 44 mph @ 4,400 rpm's and almost another 1 mph for every 100 rps's above that. As KartFab said above that seems crazy fast to me in your kart. I have a 3203 as well and even at 27 mph my kart...

YD3203- I need help with- new tires? ackerman? shocks?

Thanks Fabroman! The stock kart comes stock with 6.0 gearing and a less powerful motor. I thought increasing the gear ratio up to 6.66 would provide better lower end, but still allow me to reach around 30 mph, but there doesn't seem to be enough power to get me there. If I add smaller 18"...

YD3203- I need help with- new tires? ackerman? shocks?

Hi All, I have a few questions I was hoping I could get your feedback on. I have done a lot of reading through many posts in the past couple months, but I was hoping for direct feedback, especially since it seems many people have a YD 3203 or a similar kart and many others have a lot of good...

Good luck and have fun! I have a YD3203 and I hardly feel safe hitting the mid 20's in it. I hope you can get a good setup for the front end to make it handle better! Plus I look forward to seeing the brake set up you come up with. I'd like to upgrade mine to a disc, but I don't have much...
