    Ghost or Predator with hop-up?

The engine looks awesome. So glad to hear how strong it is. 53 mph is very fast when your backside is that close to the ground. In a couple of your post you seemed a little frustrated with it. Aren't you glad you didn't throw it away.

That's dead on. Please watch the video I referenced in post #4. Maybe they are too long.

Just went to NR website. They have what you wanted in stock. Certainly doesn't say much for bullfrog motors. We'll send you a part that doesn't fit your engine, so you can't use it. But we'll discount the price. How nice of them. Sorry to rant. I like dealing with reputable companies.

Hello, new to karts and current project (Manco 3005B-09)

Didn't realize the hammer the emogie was beating the other one with said lol on it. All good. I'm not much into that stuff. My bad.

What are you setting valve lash at? Also, what strength valve springs are you using?

    Assistance predator 224 rebuild

You certainly don't need to pull the engine apart. Everything can be done by just removing the rocker cover. You didn't say what brand of rockers you purchased, but if you go to the " Gage " website ( the company that manufacturers the best, and also the most expensive roller rockers ) they have...

Gage rockers are probably the best, but I think that you'll be happy with the ones from N R Racing. They have pretty good stuff.

It's a quality part made by COMET. Kind of surprised by your remark.

I think you got the problem solved. Assuming that you also are getting ( or already have ) A 30 series driver.

    Ferrari 312pb scaled kart

Kinda looks good is a GROSS understatement. One of a kind. Beautiful. Unique. When you do drive it, do you have a place where you can let it feel it's oats. Are you interested in finding out it's potential?

Is that a picture of one of your karts or his? I never saw any picture posted by him. Maybe he should just buy a driven with a 3/4" bore. Not popular, but they're available from some shops. Reading posts #33 where he ask if the washer should be rubber or metal, leads me to believe that he does...

Its time to buy if you need one. $119 might be as low as it's going to be for a while.

Why do you say not a good idea to use the backing plate jack shaft. I have 3 of them in big heavy 2 seat karts running heavily modified 212 and 224 predator engines. They work fine. I think your advice to Squiddy is wrong. There are thousands of karts out there successfully using the plate...

    Crossfire 150R 670 swap build

Maybe you should try that 11 tooth sprocket. Sounds like you have PLENTY of low end at 6 to 1. Should lower your rpm enough to cruise on down to the boat ramp without beating the snot out of it. FWIW, on all of the smaller predator engines, once you start hopping them up ( stiffer valve springs...

Didn't the Amazon CVT you bought come with a plate. The plate that bolts to the engine. It has a perfectly good 5/8" jack shaft in it that fits the driven clutch. Use it and eliminate the 3/4" shaft that's on your kart. You seem to be trying to make this much harder than necessary.

Hellion, I disagree with your post # 5. While the amount of power is substantially different, and the amount of throttle input as well, once the youngster gets up to 15 mph or so, they have to start watching where they are going. Had both of my Grandsons in a kart on their own around their 5th...

Didn't know in and out ( the burgers the burgers ) was up there in Oregon. Best fast food burger in the land of fruit and nuts by a long shot. Some places call us " Granola's". Keep those bright lights burning.

This is a wonderful place & I'm happy to be here.

Welcome to the forum. Aside from the back end, that looks a lot like the Manco intruder I have. Can't see your torque converter from the picture, but being a 420 I have to believe its a 40 series. OMB Warehouse ( and probably others ) sell both a stiffer spring, and a lighter weight kit for the...
