Russ, I have oiled the clutch several times. and i don't know how to tell if the springs have been overheated. But i do know the clutch does have some age on it.

Great Kart! Love the seat, got to be the most comfortable I've seen. Takes alot of inginuity to come up with something like this on your own. I am working on one of my own now just waiting on funds for a engine.

Blazkowiez, you say to not run my Brigss if it is shorter than 2 inches. The shaft on this particular briggs is a bout 1 1/4 inches long is this to short? If so why? as long as the clutch key has plenty of room on the shaft couldn't I just put a longer bolt in the shaft to keep the clutch...

Cam, the guy I got it from said it sat for about 3 months. But it ran just fine at his house, and as soon as I got it home it's giving me problems. Oil Level is fine and i have cleaned the carb 3 times now. would the missing muffler or air cleaner affect this at all? or would i be better off...

Anyone at all?? Also won't start at all unless i use starting fluid. and when it dies it spits oil and gas out the carb. Any suggestions?

I just picked up another kart project and the 5 hp tecumseh that came on it is missing the entire air cleaner assembly. Where can I pick one of these up at a descent price? also needs a muffler. I will try to get picks up asap. It is a tecumseh 5hp enduro engine.
