I didn't know it was there... We went last week and they told us to come by Monday if we didn't get one and they would order one for us... I went in today to get it ordered (Which doesn't cost money up front) and they said they found one in the storage room.

We got the right clutch now! Which means I'll be mounting the engine tomorrow!!!

You'd save yourself a ton of work with a phone call or two, no?

Things are looking good- keep at 'er!

One of my pet peeves is talking on the phone. I hate it. If I can go talk to someone in person versus talking to them on the phone, I'll do it. It's odd I know but it's just the way I do things I guess; :roflol:

@Patrick: Sweet... hopefully we'll get a lot done tomorrow!

Also, our new clutch is a 10 tooth, meaning with the 37 tooth sprocket that'll be a 3.7:1 ratio which should be a lot less taxing on our clutch.

Also Patrick I think our next project should be something like this:

I think you'd like that better haha

Okay, as I said earlier today.

BIG UPDATE!!!

First thing - WE DROVE IT TODAY.

When I got to the school this morning, I kinda took it easy. I installed the clutch and started to shorten our chain (It was about 15 links too long.). That was the start of the day.

-

Then I went around the rest of the day going to all my classes, blah blah blah. And during the 6th and 7th period I got the motor mounted and the chain fitted. Everything was going perfectly.

-

-

Patrick was working with the electrical while I was messing with the motor mount. He hooked up a key operated kill-switch. So now it cannot be started without the key in the ignition and in the on position. :wai:

-

When we got done, we were ready to call it a day. But I decided that I wanted to drive it around the parking lot one time. (VIDEOS COMING SOON)

Well, when we first started, I didn't think it was going to be very fast at all. Well, then I opened it up a little. I was going about 45 when it got scary and I killed the engine. (It was my first time driving a go-kart in maybe 10 years, bare with me!) and we weren't even reaching max RPM. I am confident this thing will have no issues reaching 60+. The power this engine has just completely shocked me.

Up next - Throttle control!

Video coming soon, I have to upload it.

low budget

Is the budget for this one really low? I can't watch the video because there are some error. I guess I'll just try it next time.

We have spent a total of around $50. (47.07 for the clutch, and about 3 bucks in gas)

Great Kart! Love the seat, got to be the most comfortable I've seen. Takes alot of inginuity to come up with something like this on your own. I am working on one of my own now just waiting on funds for a engine.

It is very comfy... comfort was one of the design features...

Nah, the main design feature was "Use anything we can get for free". lol

There's also plans for a cup holder.
