    Simple work/welding cart

So I was able to get more done today. First up was checking all my cuts from yesterday: After that, I cleaned them up and started welding them together: A closeup of one of my better welds:  Lesson learned about inspecting my welds so soon after doing them: I ground the welds...

    Simple work/welding cart

Hiya folks. I finally got a chance to get back on this site and start working on a project. This isn't going to be anything fancy, just a simple 3 shelf rolling cart. This is mainly to get some welding practice in while building something useful (before I start working on a go kart). So to...

    Briggs engine repair- a tragecomedy...

So I checked it with the multimeter and was getting wildly varying readings. That's when I realized the kill switch was moving under my fingers while I was repositioning trying to get the meter to behave. I got an index card and made some "spacers" to hold it still. They wound up working...

    Briggs engine repair- a tragecomedy...

I disconnected the stop wire and got spark, so I'm pretty sure that's my problem, but here are some pics. Alright, here is a pic of the engine to give you the general idea. This is what the stop wire hooks into from the coil. The suspect wire. There are no abrasions or anywhere for...

    Briggs engine repair- a tragecomedy...

So, I know you guys will appreciate this. My mom's lawnmower wasn't running. I, being the great son that I am, decide to fix it for her. I started with cleaning the carb, changing the oil, and putting a new spark plug in. It still wouldn't start. I hook up a spark tester and find that I'm...

    Go kart Identification Thread

Great idea, Anderkart! This is a Manco Dingo 285 series. I unfortunately never got the year on it. Here's another one without the roll cage that I hope will prove useful.

New Kart Need ideas for accesories

Well if that's the route you want to take (DON'T underestimate the value of a good cup holder sir), then what is required is a chrome skull with flaming red light up eyes.

    Dingo questions....

The one I circled for you. Edit- I can't believe I forgot this. Landuse hooked me up with this link. I think you'll find it really useful too. http://www.smallenginesuppliers.com/html/engine-specs/tecumseh/Tecumseh_L-Head_Engines_Service_Information.pdf

    Got me a kart!!!

Below circled in red, you'll see it in the back plate pulley as well. Not everything has the key molded into it (your driven for example). The key stock performs the same function. That is, to keep the pulley spinning with the shaft. That notch on your crankshaft is called the key way, the...

    Got me a kart!!!

A key stock will look like this: Edit: I just remembered they were molded into the pieces on the driver assembly. You would see them if you took off the driven. You should still be able to clean the driven without taking it off if you haven't already done so.
