In order to replace the gasline we took the linkage off but when we put it back together it doesn't run as fast as it did before we took it apart.

any ideas what could be the cause of this, did we hook the linkage back up right? Its on a Tecumseh 6.5 motor

Ok that didn't do it, when you hit the governor all the way it runs good but when you press the foot feed we loose power. So how do you adjust the governor?

Ok moved the spring to the number two hole but didn't fix the problem. If we manually run the governor it opens up and runs right however when we use the foot feed we only get half the power. How do you adjust the governor?

You've got something binding. Make sure your cable from the foot pedal is in as straight line as it can possibly be (no bends)back the engine, and make sure no linkage is in a bind back to the carb.

Tighten up your throttle line going to your foot peddle. Adjust it so that when you push the peddle completely down, you open the butterfly on the carb all the way open for full throttle. Do not adjust it so that when you push the peddle half way down, your going full throttle because if you accidently push all the way down, you can stretch and/or break the throttle cable.

We hooked the spring into the large hole and it works just like it had before, not sure why but it has been running good ever since.
