    Our First Two Carts

Well that idler washer was different than what I was talking about. I Pulled the outside of the clutch out a little more with a washer between it and the inside portion of the clutch.

Finally. I used a washer to hold the outer part of the clutch further away from the engine which gives the belt plenty or room to sit when its at idle. Time to put the new seatbelts on and get her going! Thanks guys for all the help

Blaz, I got one of those flat washers on there and it doesn't seem to help any.

    Our First Two Carts

Yeah, I'm back. I've got the Yerf-Dog all fixed up and ready to go - only problem is is the belt situation is still messed up. I'm measuring 6 - 3/4" right now which is less than what i should need for the belt, but the belt rubs so much on the clutch when I try to start it, it catches (even...

    Our First Two Carts

They measured between 6-13/16 and 6-7/8? That would make the clutch and the driven VERY close to each other I would guess seeing as how mine are very close as they are now. I'll take another pic and measure again tomorrow.

The length I measured from center to center is 7-5/8". I'll check the belt when I get home

I know the sprocket was changed at one point by the previous owner. So the chain is loose on the bottom, but I don't think it should be a problem riding it unless you think it it will break from the tension on the top. Any ideas on bringing the engine closer to the jackshaft? I'm just going to...

Do Not Buy Brake Bands From Northern

I ordered a brake band from BMI. I haven't used it yet, but it sure looks like it is good quality. It is not rubber (more of a ceramic like on automotive brakes) and the metal looks thick and strong as well as the welds.

    Searching electric motor.

zabac, He obviously knows that he can just type in 'e whatever' into google and come up with a bajillion results. He was wondering if there are any quality distributers that he should start with instead of guessing at whose good in a list a mile long. Maybe if you have a website you like going...

    Preparing/painting your frame (guide/ toutorial)

You can just spray some flat black primer on there and call it a day =D especially for offroad carts.

    Kart

looks awesome dude, BTW I almost peed when I saw the pic of the tires leaning up against the engine. You should photoshop the cat into that one too sitting on the engine for kicks.

Adding a battery to a cart.

Hi, I want to add a 12v lawn mower battery onto my cart and I have this coming off the engine. I looked around and it looks like I have a stator? which is what I need? How do I connect the yellow and white wires up to the battery so that it can be charged while the engine is running? I assume...

    Our First Two Carts

Its laying right on top. no spacers at all. Was raining when I went home for lunch, hopefully okay weather soon so I can take it apart and take some pictures. BMI said I can't return the belt because I mounted it already - How am I supposed to know its the wrong one if I don't mount it...
