    Normal break in or overpowered?

Swapped out the jackshaft assy. on the Murrary Hard drive for a new knock-off TAV2 with a 7" driven. It's a 5.4:1 after the TAV (we have the sprocket to do 6:1 and 6.7:1 if need be). It takes off decent but then lays down a bit but picks up speed on the flat.Going up a hill seemed real "doggy"...

    Anyone Need 16 x 8x 7 Tires

:iagree: That helps a lot. A tube would make a huge difference. We had one that simply would not get close enough to the bead to seat without a tube. I don't recommend this but we removed the valve stem and shot a quick spray of starting fluid and took it outside and tossed a match at it...

    Mini ford bronco

    Mini ford bronco

That looks awesome! Cool as Hell, I now have to get off my butt and get the mustang body I have for the daughters cart finished now. It will be a spitting image of my Mustang. Tim

    TAV ratio question.

OK. great. Probably go somewhere in the 5.4 range. 10 tooth behind the driven pulley and 54 on the axle. Should give the best of both worlds with it being a more off-road style kart. Thanks again. Tim

    TAV ratio question.

OK, have a question. Murray Hard Drive. HF Clone engine with a few mods. We put larger tires on it than stock. ATV 16x8-7 tires. This thing was seriously abused by the former owners and my Buddy and I resurrected it. It has a shudder when taking off from a stop. The clutch is fairly whipped...

    Bearing Question

They are made offshore no question there. But I put a set on the kart I built for my daughter and haven't had any issues, up to and even over 40mph. As with anything your mileage, and experience may vary. I'm just providing an alternative. Tim

    Wheel bearings?

Exactly it's too easy to screw up roller bearings by tightening the spindle nut too tight. I kind of got the idea from rebuilding the rear axle in my car, the "crush sleave" that is used between the two pinion bearnings does the smae thing. Locks the inside races so they don't spin on the pinion.

    Bearing Question

Try this place for your bearings... Cheaper than McMaster, and still good quality. And with a cast housing.http://www.thebigbearingstore.com/servlet/the-9/1%22-Pillow-Block-Bearing/Detail

    Wheel bearings?

A friend and I bought a Murray HardDrive. We got a great deal but it needed some work. The 2 of the 4 front wheel bearings were siezed and the 3rd was almost, only 1 was actually spinning as it should. We got new wheels with bearings and tires for it, But we had an idea instead of just...

    Anyone Need 16 x 8x 7 Tires

Great deal, very nice tires. But what a :furious2: to install!!! They are very deformed and install with a tube would be much easier. My buddy and I put 4 of these on a Murray Hard Drive with new wheels. We resorted to using the old Starting spray and a match trick to get the bead to seat on a...

    Clone Compression Issue

This may be a stupid question, but are you using the correct specs for the valve lash? English vs. Metric I glanced at the specs and had issues until I realized I was reading metric out of the book and using English on the feelers.

    Cobra II project kart.

The head pipe has the end inside capped off. and a bunch of holes drilled in it. Also the ends of the two small pipes are drilled with a few holes as well. No packing at all inside of it probably if you added another kind of baffle inside it would help a bit. It's not as load as you think, and...

    Van Restore

Awesom Find that's really cool. It's probably made by the same company that made the Fiberglass Mustang II body I have. This is what was on the label inside of the body I have. F.W. & Assoc. INC 2605 W. 1st ST. Tempe, AZ That date, body style, Mold #. and a bunch of other manufacturing check...
