Thank you! I was pretty proud of it once I got done. Couldn't see two feet in front of me after welding because of how thick the smoke was, I really need an exhaust fan in my garage. The headrest was actually a sissy bar from my neighbors old yamaha motorcycle, I liked the loop at the very end, might use the bottom half of it to add side "crash bars" near the steering wheel to help keep my arms in, also stealing the wrist strap idea from the old oddesey buggys, I'll probably make them from 550 cord, I'm doing good at 34 with zero broken bones. I hope to test ride it for my birthday next month, but now I'm not sure what color to do, I've got two cans of red, but the engine sure looks nice in that blue.

That cage is looking pretty good. Definitely much better than the factory one from a safety standpoint.

I've got at least 4 more bars I'd like to add, trying to keep in mind where the front wheels will need to travel, and where I need to fit inside, wouldn't mind running some sheet steel along the bottom for a debris shield too, but not sure if I have enough on hand.

A bit of bad news, I sat down inside it, and without an actual seat in it yet, my head pokes out of the top about a half inch. But the good news that follows, I have a red gx160 that will look nice inside the frame, and my wife is a foot shorter than me, so it's going to become hers. Reason I'm not willing to put anything bigger than the gx160 is because in her younger days she wrecked a pocket rocket into a mailbox causing permanent scaring and memory loss, she has anxiety about daily driving, so no need to make it crazy.

Need one more can of red for a few light spots, but I like it over all. Color is rustoleum high gloss strawberry fields, going to do most of the small parts gloss black, gold wheels, should look pretty clean when it's done, and the gx160 I'll be using is barely broken in. Once I can afford some new rubber it'll be really nice, but I'm stuck with used tires for now. I'll probably paint up the spindles, axle and anything else I'll need to make it a roller, after that I'll have to wait for some funding for the sprocket hub and brakes of some sort.

So I stink with ratios and I freely admit it, going to be using a true comet 30 series, it has a 9t sprocket on the driven. I have two 54t axle sprockets on the shelf, would this all make a proper setup with a gx160 running the show, de-govern only for the time being? 22x11-8 rears.

I never checked but, what's the pitch for the sprockets? I'd say get a 72 tooth on the axle that will bring you to 8 to 1 (not including the 10% over drive with a 6" driven)

#40 chain. When I ran the sprocket counts on the genarac calculator it gave me 6.0:1 ratio,would dropping to 8:1 give my wife cause to be afraid of it? Wheelies aren't really her thing.

6:1 with 22" tires will result in a massively too high gear ratio. 8:1 is about the minimum for those huge tires. You may want to invest in a jackshaft.

Thought about building a jackshaft, don't have a lot of money to play with, but I do have steel and bearings laying around for sure.

What do you guys think of the look? Need to find the other spring for the spindle and it will at least be a roller, I can get it out of the garage and start working on the engine and cleaning up the comet. Overkill for my wife's style of riding, up and down the street at half throttle.

Steal away my karting friend. I sold the large frame dingo and got to keep everything but the frame, so this one is getting transplants from it. Hopefully I can get the rear axle apart, it's just bolted in for mock up but nothing lines up right, and the disk for the brakes will probably go too, I still have a drum brake from the shaller I had, it lines up centered with the bolts for the axle bearings, so I'm highly considering the drum for it but I'll have to order shoes. I'll need new tires soon enough, but these hold air for quite a while and will work for now, truth be told I need tires on all of them, but that's $1k new all at once I'm sure.

Yeah, she's worth it for sure! Gotta keep momma safe, my kids would never let me live it down if she got hurt because of me, she's excited that it will have a four point harness too.
For gear ratios, you are not going to be able to use 6:1 with those tyres. You will HAVE to go lower to at least 8:1

Putting all my projects on hold for probably about a week, I had a kind soul donate enough insulation to do most of my garage, and January in Colorado tends to get cold, I'm tired of being cold! I took a picture two nights ago, it was warm enough at the time of the picture that wearing a shirt while working was almost unbearable, so it's working! Another upgrade I've been working on is a home made potbelly stove, going to build it from old steel truck wheels. Already have A/C installed, but without insulation it hasn't ever kept it very cool in the summer, hoping this summer will be better too. If all goes well and works out the right way I may never leave the garage again ha ha ha! Figured I'd let you guys know what's up so you don't think I'm leaving you hanging on this one.

Almost forgot to share my new best bud Connor with you guys! He is 11 weeks in that picture, and his paws are exactly the size of my mastiff mix. He was my new years present to myself.

Insulation is installed, did one 22' wall, and one 10.5' wall, all of it was 1"thick so I triple layered it in and still have a lot of larger "scrap" prices left over, entire job was free materials! Next is getting everything reorganized and ready to install my home made forced air potbelly stove, still have some building to do on it but my stinger on the welder failed in the middle of a weld, I'll see if I can get it rebuilt tonight, but here is the start of a free woodburner, might give a few some ideas, I know I'm sick of being cold.

Here's the door for it, and the tray should hopefully get hot enough to brew coffee in a percolator. The little red tank is going to be an outdoor mini version of my already mini woodstove, it'll be a good conversation piece when we have bbq's this spring!
I'll be getting back to the dingo in a couple days, garage is still a disaster area.
