Once you are out of high school, life and the world just seems to fly past you. I'll be 27 in just a few days, and I have no idea where the time has gone anymore. I still remember parts of high school that feel like just happened within the last couple weeks. But once you get into your 20s, you'll realize time flies past you.

It's weird that my family still sends me gifts for my birthday, even though I'll be 30 in 3 years. On the upside it's all useful items. Got motorcycle mirrors, a digital voltmeter, ACDelco 10si 63amp alternator, and an hour meter all for my eventual project. I know I should have kept it all boxed up until Tuesday, lol.

Sounds as if things are coming together for you! Congrats!!! :D

I am renovating what used to be the garage on my property (the previous owner started converting it to a bachelor pad but got half way).

I bought tiles over the weekend, and realised that renovating is hella expensive!!!! :ack2::ack2:

Here are a couple of progress pics

I'll post up progress photos:thumbsup: They were supposed to start the tiling today, but they are still prepping the bathroom walls for tiling. They might even do the ceiling replacement tomorrow before the tiling

I'll just have to see when i get home and chat to the builder

Because it used to be a garage, the walls were very uneven, so they chipped the walls and plastered them straight.

I never thought of the fact that we build a lot different here. You guys (according to my limited TV knowledge of US construction:D) mostly build with wood framing with insulation in between the panels..... and then have siding on the outside. Here, everything is constructed with brick. This then gets plastered to have a straight surface for painting. Siding is something that is used very very seldom.

It is actually interesting the differences in construction techniques between countries

We do have brick and block homes here. My parent's first two houses were block homes. Of course the newest one was built in 1927. But, yeah, we do a lot with wood frames. For example we built our house as a wood frame 2 story. Though most of the "houses" around where we live now are mobils.

Brick houses are not that commonen here up in the west coast of Canada unless they are old heritage houses. But most not... We live in an active fault area so building codes require a more flexible house in case of earth quakes..
Here, alot of new houses are going to a stucco and faux brick façade, getting an older look but retaining same style construction..
Also, wood construction is cheaper as it is typically cut/milled not far from here, were it grows relitivly aplenty...

Welp, some people may have plain old trees in their yard, or boring grass, but we... we have a horse, a wild(ish) horse. Seriously, one of our neighbors horses got in our yard somehow. So, we have a code brown until whoever owns it comes to get it. Keep in mind it's 9:30pm here and the sun sets at about 6.

Now that's a situation.

Well, ya know, I've been in pretty bad shape lately. I've been getting better. I had a friend over, and I thought I would put something to the test. I laid down and got right back up.( wanted the friend there. In case I couldn't.

A week or two ago, I would fall down, and have to get assistance to get back up. Getting stronger every day!!!!

Glad to hear it! Who else could run the world famous, critically acclaimed Poboy Store?!:lolgoku:

On another note, found this today and thought it was really funny:

I had no idea this song existed when I created my username, and I actually really like the song.
And I changed my signature to suit. :D
