Yes, the fixed side needs to be glued on..
My cart is running (no brakes yet) great!! I think when the guy idled it down it lost some speed but it is running stable. First pull every time.

There is 2 main bolts holding the thing together....They are tight... but an impact gun will do(air or electric), a breaker bar ect. , none the less something sturdy to hold it secure, while loosening...
Itll require epoxy, most others wont handle the heat... gum up and let go...
The belt for the torque converter has to much slack and judging by a video I’ve seen it’s obviously the wrong one. The kart has the original comet torque converter but some how it’s missing the sprocket behind the back pully.
I think the chain on my back axle is too long because it slipped off twice and my muffler fell off due to no gasket and loose bolts.

WHOA WHOA.... Slow your roll brother! Before you you get all wrapped up in that old rusty axle let's go through a little thinking and troubleshooting but you get butthurt and and empty your wallet! Chances are you can make some minor adjustments to the engine mount and fix all that...
First, loosen your engine bolts enough to get it to slide around. Now after you do that check and see if the jackshaft plate slides as well. The jackshaft plate will slide fore and aft somewhat and help with your chain tension. Now then once you are good with that you can then slide your engine to adjust your belt tension... it's going to be a balance act, but I have faith in you! You will have to fiddle and cuss at it to keep it lined up...just ask forgiveness and give thanks when you get it bolted down!!! Lol
I can remember but I think the exhaust nuts on a 212 are m7 or m8 something like that, get a good split lock washer to help hold them down... you're going to have to suck it up and buy an exhaust gasket... that's just how it is...if it gets loose it will burn out. Your local shop may have one I don't know.
Ok, those pulleys look like crap dude, your belt ain't too big. It should NOT be sitting down inside the driven like that though. That thing needs a good cleaning at the least and possibly a new spring, but clean it first. I think the sheaves are stuck. That jack plate shouldn't be welded down...if it is you need to cut it loose if you can so you can adjust chain tension
