There are a lot of guys that still have cams reground in the turbo world, not uncommon at all. This is a whole nother can of worms though.
I've been thinking about the lifter deal, and if the face was cupped it might create a little more duration, but at the same time it would load the lifter weird when it did, and I would assume, screw with the rotation causing the cam to go flat. Just my simple hillbilly figuring, no substantiating information to back this up at all. That's why I'm interested in this whole deal, there is a whole lot to camshaft design, and what if it runs hard like this? I'm sure the first person to strap a roots blower (originally designed for mineshaft ventallation) to an engine was called nuts more than once. Also, I was one of the early guys in the DIY turbo movement, and my first one was a joke to look at, and everyone laughed at me when I showed up at the track with it. A track record, two track championships, and the fact that I only lost 3 rounds of competition in two years (heads up racing) shut them up pretty quick. Stay with it FR, I'm pulling for ya.
(Edit) the guys at the track were calling me a stupid hillbilly, and saying that would never work. Long story short, I got it working, and started whipping them. Someone made the observation "ya know, that stupid hillbilly is flying" and it stuck, I've been the flyinhillbilly since.
