I had to kick Sammies butt. He decided to sleep with me last night, but got up at 3 am, and took a short cut across the nightstand, dumping a 32 ounce tumbler of water on me.

I've been getting on to him about taking that route...but he is severely hard headed. He even tried to come that way this morning! I may have to set some mouse traps.

Well my idiot self just almost started the house on fire.. well not really. My mini charcoal grille sits on top of a teak table and I've been cooking with it for a few years now. Well since I leave it outside all year around, it's been rusting away, even though it's 2 years old now. So a small hole has formed and let lighter fluid leak out like a sieve. Didn't notice the hole for a bit. Well after I got the grille started, I went back inside to grab my steaks and put my corn on the cob in the pot. Came back out to check on the charcoals and noticed a 6" flame on the table. Some of the lighter fluid leaking from the grille, must've been hot enough the catch the rest of it on fire on the table.

Ran down to the back of the house and retrieved the hose and put out the fire. Now when I put lighter fluid on, I go balls to the wall with it. Oh well, crap happens, no one was hurt and the world keeps spinning. Already been looking at getting a small camping size propane grille as the replacement, since i can adapt (safely) 20-100lb cans of propane to it or use the small 2lb. It's all whole lot cheaper than buying charcoal every few weeks.

Crap...buddy...that teak is 'spensive!

Now for a grill....it really depends on how big of meals you cook at a time.

I like my little Backyard Grill....that uses those camping size propane cylinders....because sometimes I imbibe too much....and it's better to find a personalized portion of meat "charcoaled" and and empty $2 cylinder than a 20lb. tank!

However, should you not suffer from said affliction....look for a grill around $100 that uses a 20lb. cylinder.....

You'll very quickly find it's much cheaper and easier than charcoal....

I mean REALLY???? How can you not trust that iconic legend and Texan: Hank Hill?

I tell ya what.....bibbby bo bobble ummmm.... sum gum...bo blabber blabber boo.

How come you never see FR and that guy together?

(I think he's really a POSTMAN and VISITS a bar in Boston! )

No idea. I can easily cook a rack of beef ribs on my current setup nicely or 3 1.25lb ribeye steaks. Few months ago, propane was under a dollar per pound.. think for a 20lb cylinder it was like $15, which is a dang good deal. But right now, need to get small stuff for the lack of storage.

The teak table was free...my dad's work was going to toss it, so my dad asked and got it. At the time I think it cost about $1200 or so maybe more, no idea. Nice 4' round table with 4 chairs and a 5' teak bench.

Yeah...grammar was never my strong suit in school. It's what almost got me to fail English class, several times. Too many rules to remember and really not enough of me actually caring to even worry about it. Anywho, eventually I'll get a wood/charcoal smoker...much nicer I think than an electronic one. Electronics are too fancy for cooking. Main thing electric I like for cooking is the igniter on a grille, stove and oven. Nuke-it-waves (microwaves) don't have quality controls anymore, so they don't last very long. Plus, it dries my food too much.

And just to keep the record straight....I AM a culinary aficionado....I CAN COOK

Despite what it may appear like occasionally, I'm actually a very modest....and somewhat shy man....

But......................if you raise my hackles.
..come see me....

I don't give a flying flip....I've said it before....I'll say it again....I'm. NOT hard to find....

That's why it ticks me off so bad when newbies get so paranoid to reveal a vauge general location....

I'm Doug Riedel....I live in White Settlement, Texas...if you have a problem with me ....bring it....but come armed....killing unarmed idiots is problematic.....

White settlement? Is that a movie reference or something? I'm actually in a township outside of Prior Lake, called Credit River. There is a small river that connects from the Minnesota river, and comes down through here. I was not popular in school, and usually one to be made fun of and be bullied. Never stood up for myself, too passive. But I do have a nasty temper and really not afraid to defend myself...and I don't play fair.

White Settlement is a BY GOD real place that Californians wish they could live in. I am a Tennessee Volunteer and I would return to Texas to defend it's freedom any day.

My brother lives north of you in Ardmore. So rumor has it and not wanting to get political, but is it true in the Texas Constitution, the state can secede from the US? If so, best state ever.

In high school, myself included there were 3 Aaron Johnson's in the whole school. Each of us in different grades. Whenever they'd call us for something, they'd have to use our grade we were in, otherwise all 3 of us would go down.

WOW! Sis was BUSY! (Sorry....couldn't pass THAT up!)

Edit: Yeah...Texas actually never officially joined the Union.....and ....as bad as the rest of the United States hates to hear it.....TEXAS IS LIKE A WHOLE NOTHER COUNTRY!

See...we are rich in natural gas and oil....have our own seaports....are a agricultural oasis for almost every food known to man....and an ideal area to raise almost any food animal known to man....

So...yeah...we could tell America to kiss our butts at anytime....and back it up.....
