hey tman looking at my kart if i do put the spindles backward the tie rods will come right in front of the pedals... i just dont kow how i would be able to make it work... do you have any suggestions to keep the tie rods out of the way????

if you look at the 3 pic up at the top you might be able to see what happens if i put the spindles backwards .....and the frame is just long enough so i cant move pedals...... but i know how important this is to fix the front suspension :)

bluethunder , that is alot , at first I didn't know what you were talking about.

gokart14 I hope you can make sense of this. I did it with MS Paint.
It would involve putting in a uv joint, angle iron and a few other pieces.

maybe like this. With a bell crank pitman arm. Just shooting ideas is all. This would fix you up I think. I did not read all this thread about your kart. But by looking if you want to flip the spindles. The steering shaft needs to be changed.

You could fab a mount off your frame. Then run your steering shaft to that mount. Then make the bell crank pitman arm off your shaft.

Or just build it like your were. But put a swivel in your steering shaft to change the angle of the wheel to fit you just right.

oh ya thats an Idea also, there are alot of ways to do it.
big do you know of any places that I could get any uv joints that are not tapered or splined , something that I could just slide in a rod and weld ?

Actullay i am dealing with toe out and i need toe in to help the a arm push back up to straighten the kart.. because right know the suspension is just compressing but wont go back up.

to get better compression u can move the shock joint on the a arm out a bit

also tie rods in front of the pedals will work fine but think about where your feet will go

gokart14 Have you made a decision on what your going to do?

fowler, bighead I think he wants to utilise his bump steer to angle his tires inwards to help bring the kart up. He had them set up going forward and the bump steer would just cause the the tires to keep spreading never alowing the shocks to bring the kart up until he would steer L or R.

ya, but thats ok . I think he is going to be adjusting with the shocks first. #1 i seems to be the easyest. #2 We all told him to do that first.

How long is that pitman arm going to be? Can you change the steering shaft angle to shorten it up some? That why I said you might be able to use a swivel to change the angle.
