hey t-man
i know this is kinda of topic from what this thread is talking about
but i was wondering about the single a arm suspension because with the gokart i built the single A arm suspension works but like on concrete roads when you hit a bumb the suspension kicks in but the tires go up wich makes the tires ride on the inside because they are attached directly to the a arm. so what happens is when i go to turn... the tires are riding on the inside of the wheel so when i turn they pop back up to normal position. so i dent know if i need to like tighten the shocks or what??
the reason i asked you was because with the A kart you used single a arm suspension
sorry its off topic just dident know if you had this problem to
gokart14, If I am visualizing this right ... you are correct in tighting the shocks. If you were turning left and your right tire/a arm only straitens out that way then ,yes , stiffen your shock ... also "toe in" the tires a little more AFTER you do the shocks.
Get back to me after you've done that and let me know how it turns out.
If you are confused about what I wrote I'll do a video.
Thx, i was thinking i was going to need to tighten my shocks ....about trying it i am redoing the whole back end so i cant really try it right now. i watched your video about the front suspension on your a kart this helped a lot... the only thing is i dont have bumb steer in my steering like you used to help push the suspension back up.
this really stpid but what do you mean by "toe in" is this what you mean by bumb steer???
basicaly my main problem is getting the suspension to pop back up after hitting a bumb.
Ok I have been looking at these pictures and can see what kind of issues your having Ill do a private video for ya. I'll try to have it up in a few hrs .... download takes the longest.
hey thx sooooo much for taking time to make this video!!!!!!!!!!! ths really helped a lot i think i am going to try both ideas first by making the shocks down further... also i had never thought of the spindles being foward wich would cause it to go out(it did feel weird when i drove it) it will take some modification to flip them around because of the way i have the steering set up but i think it will be worth it...
the only thing is if i do drop the shocks lower it will cause the tires to be a little on their side but they would probably level out when i sit in it.
well THANKS SO MUCH that helped so much ...greatly appreciate...
alright i will it might be a while cause i am kinda bussy but i really want to get it done soon. the turing the spindles around will take the most modification but cant wait to get it driving thx again!!!!
