Its a rough deal trying to make a career out of a hobby. The best way he could have started was doing manual labor IE craigslist ads for fixing people's karts and selling parts to them. However I'm not quite sure he ever did that locally. Even with that it is very hard to get established in that career with the downtimes each season and the need for a very large customer base because you may only see a customer 1 time a year.

It really is sad its turned this direction but its reasonable to understand how. Whats crazy is the videos finally seemed to look much more professional with the aftereffects and intro-outtros.

It is a drag, but a man's gotta do what a man's gotta do. I went on his channel and read some of the comments. Honestly, I was quite annoyed by all the people whining about how he was clearly only in it for the money. FWIW, this was my response-

"@just about everybody- Y'know, you people kill me, you really do. Being in it "for the money" is a BAD thing? Obviously, there are way too many people out there sponging off mommy and daddy. Maybe one day you'll have to pay your own rent, and you'll think about being in it for the money. Tman's got bills to pay! You fault him for that? Anybody want to take a stab at what it cost to build the Tumbler? Jeezus. Might be time for some of you to wake up and smell the coffee. Tell your mom I said Hi!"

I understand the viewers' disappointment- I'm disappointed, too. But- do these folks think bills pay themselves?

TMan- I hope you find the time/budget for the occasional project. I love your stuff. I just watched the LED contest vid- great light bar! How did you isolate all the positive leads from grounding out on the steel bar? Did you make a PCB- the vid didn't clearly show...

it would be hard to make money from a hobby like this
