right, its not a very complicated engine, but its compact. the transmission is built into the engine case, and the whole thing basically splits in half.

the PO was terrible at keeping track of parts... in fact, when i was at his house, he forgot he left most of the engine at his friends house. (he thought he left it in his driveway...)

his friend shows up with the engine thrown in the back of his trailer...

My engine also has the tranny built in. Being unorganized is one thing that I hate, if I see an engine on craigslist that someone already started to take apart I leave right there. Are you going to do any mods, or just return to stock?

well since im using a wiseco rod and top end, i guess thats a mod. since i was missing the shifter, i got an aftermarket one (cant remember the brand). its got a hinson clutch. and i think the reeds are aftermarket but i cant remember. its got an aftermarket silencer too.

i just cant wait till i get the parts so that i can make some progress and figure out whats left.

parts should come thursday. cant wait to get the bike done! my friends been letting me ride his. little more power than mine will have he has a 150cc big bore on it

it just feels like this dirt bike will take forever since i have so many parts to put together and still missing some.... and it has to go together exactly right..

just blew another 250 bucks at the dirt bike shop... this weekend im getting the cylinder honed... need to exchange my standard piston for a oversize... didnt know.

i brought a bunch of parts into the dirt bike shop to have them look at them so i can be sure i have all good parts. they said no need to replace the water pump, it looks good,, but i found out some more bearings were seized and all the seals were no good. they said the pitting on the head is fine since im not racing, just try to smooth it out with sand paper a little.

now i just need rad hoses, a few bolts, and fuel

once i get it running im going to look for a new front and rear fender so they match.. then thats it!

I have to agree with Fabroman on that one! Are you getting the cylinder honed, or bored over and then honed? If it just needs to be honed you could probably do that yourself with a $25 cylinder honing tool. I did exactly that on both cylinders of my engine and they turned out great, they have a nice 45* cross hatch, and the bore is well within spec. Good luck with your project blue! Next time you do a build like this try to stay more organized, I suppose you have a lot less parts to deal with than I do, but still.

probably close to 600. but i did get the bike for free basically so i dont feel so bad...

in the end, i hope to have a 600 dollar bike with a brand new engine.

the bike has new tires, cables, sprockets, chain, and the brakes are good

i didnt loose anything... the PO lost the stuff i mentioned like rad hoses, motor mounts..

its $20 to hone so i think ill just get it done professionally

That's just a semi educated guess, it may be faster, it's just that I doubt it.

125s generally arent geared for a very high top speed, 70 maybe. They are designed to get there **** fast tho. Think about it, who is ever going to go even 70 on a motocross track? lack of low end torque limits gearing also. You could easily get 100 out of one, but i wouldnt wanna trail ride it.

it goes about 70 from what ive read online.. in 6th i do feel like it could pull another gear but i might lose control... going 70 on a trail is pretty sketchy if you hit a bump then youll be seriously hurt or dead

i believe this bike can be used in supermoto with street tires, im sure they gear it higher

Yeah Im looking at a 125cc rm125 for 150$ and some front kart brakes for 80$ But they are a little out dated ( from an enduro kart) but still for 80$ why not and a working 125cc for 150$ thats a no brainer
