I believe the bolt is a balance thing, seen that on a ton of wheels.

what about the hole? would i be ok to leave it? obviously i need a spoke though

I believe the bolt is there to keep the tube protecter in place. As for the plastics. Nice job! You could just get some graphics off Motosport Outlet or Rocky Mountain ATV that fade from blue to white to bring the colors together.

The bolt is a rim lock it locks the tire to the rim and the extra hole is for a second rim lock

EDIT::The extra hole needs a plug not a spoke unless there's an extra hole on the hub then you will need a spoke.

I would buy another spoke get the OE replacement i wouldn't mix aftermarket and oem spokes. Unless you want to put a second rim lock on you should plug the hole it keeps mud and water and such out. I think they're called mudplugs but I can't remember exactly where I got mine it was at a dealership though.

finally getting to the rebuilding part. wont be able to put the crank together until next week though.

also finally sold the mini bike so now i can buy all the remaining parts.

MMMMM.... parts! I finally dropped a ton of money on parts, I have been getting UPS, USPS, and FedEx stuff everyday for week, It's like Christmas everyday! What parts are you getting besides the ones in the picture? Good luck with re-assembly!

-piston- wiseco pro lite, motorcycle superstore $104.99
head- might skip this and fix old one.
-full gasket kit- athena $38.95
tranny oil- not sure yet...ATF?
exhaust springs- FMF $8.99
spark plug- motorcycle superstore BR9EG $4.99 getting two (one will probably foul from break in mixture)
front shock seals and oil- not sure if this needs to be replaced
thread repair- helicoil?
radiator hoses- ebay $20
carb rebuild- K&L brand? $20

EDIT: i may be missing the powervalve linkage, i havent seen it.. EDIT: nope its still there

ok got the crank back today! i can finally order the rest of the stuff saturday.

-carb rebuild kit
-engine mounts
-rad hoses

parts said they would come the 19th i think... then as soon as i get them ill start putting it back together.

the big question is.. how am i going to get the engine back together haha

EDIT: i could probably have got a running bike for the price of all these parts, but at least ill have a fresh engine

I'm in the same boat with my buggy, I have spent hundreds on parts and it would have been cheaper to by something else. I view it as a learning experience, which makes it worth while to me. I need to buy a few more misc parts and then I can put the engine back together. Then I need another $150 in parts if I want to test it....

If you kept the parts organized, re-assembly should be pretty easy, especially since it's a single cylinder 2 stroke.
