Hey guys, got my motor mounted, and running, it is going to be scary bad. I have never messed with a snowmobile motor, man has this motor got power. I believe I may have trouble keeping the front end on the ground. got new 16 in. front wheels and tires, and a set of seats out of a honda del Sol. they are perfect go cart seats. The motor cranked on first pull have not put my elect. start on it yet. 433cc twin 2 stroke yamaha motor. If you can find one,get it.

Not to hi-jack your thread, but can you post some pics on how you mounted the engine, and set up the clutch / drivetrain? I'm thinking about doing this to my single seater yerfdog cart.

Looks fun , is your engine mounted to the swingarm setup ? If it is I can see a potential problem with the cylinder head making contact with that bar going across the rear frame ?? What size tires you got for the rear axle ?? :cheers2: Bill

does the driven pulley (the large red one) open up, or is that a fixed diameter pulley? Did you make the jackshaft setup, or take it from the sled?

the secondary, opens up, it and the jackshaft is one i had from an old project, the chain is a new chain i had left over from a 200sx 4 wheeler rebuild.

so its a 520? or 428?

Just wondering cuz i'll be doing a sled engine build this year (hopefully), and figured i'd need a decent amount of strength, just didnt know how much. I know the "silent" chains in the chaincases of sleds are pretty beefy.

Clean up those primary sheives before riding. Use a 400+ grit sand paper and once you clean it up after 3-4 rides or so clean the sheives with Acetone and a rag.

motor

yamaha 433cc twin 2 stroke, you don't want to go any bigger, the way this motor runs, I'm thinking this cart has to much power and will be dangerous. I don't think I will be able to keep the front end down.
