There is a point of too much power though , watch this vid ,, http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jZWJzZlH8Bs
that kart only makes usable power at the top end , a smaller engine of about 400cc would be more usable for everyday off road fun , your not reving it out to get it moving , your not spinning all the time , in a all out drag race sure the vid kart would win but he wouldn`t enjoy that kart climbing hills and trails , I myself if I had the money for a engine would use a single 400 to 500cc 4 stroke , just my opinion , Bill

Mabye your kind of fun is going slow and his kind of fun is going as fast as a bat outta hell. I personally would love to have that kart. Climbing hills and trails would be hella fun because the chances of you getting stuck are slim.

"I will always take SPEED over fun because the faster I go the more fun I am having" (feel free to quote)

Your right on the Fun factor , I myself love speed too , but my kart build I gotta compromise as we do alot of back woods trails the other kart would be to wide for and alot of mountain logging road exploring ,, thats why I said my preference for my kart would be a big single cylinder torque monster for my purposes , I think his 433cc engine will be just right for his kart , ,, Bill

Thats not my kart , its a vid of a kart that would be in my use over powered if I had it , the owner of that kart said he does about 70 MPH in that field and can top out around 100 MPH , we were talking about Yellowbeards kart with his 433cc engine , he was thinking it would be overpowered , :cheers2:

yamaha 433cc twin 2 stroke, you don't want to go any bigger, the way this motor runs, I'm thinking this cart has to much power and will be dangerous. I don't think I will be able to keep the front end down.

When i was asking about what size to use i meant chain, i know my way around sled engines and i figured since my kart is small i'd look for a 295 or 340 fan. I doubt a 433 will be too much power for your kart.
