Here is how it looks with the edge trim
...but, the material wasa a bit short (12" x 60")


So, I used the scrap pieces, from the doorway cut outs, ta extend the fronts

A straight edge helps ta make nice straight cuts

I didn't know about it
...but, I guess folks go around placing Rubber Ducks on the Jeeps that they like

Here we are in the staging area
...& folks just started walking up & putting Ducks on the hood

I walked around looking at some of the other Jeeps
...& stuff

When I came back

A little bit later (still in the staging area)

Put them on the passenger seat (for the ride thru the parade)

Yup, it's a family event
...everyone seemed to like it
...yup, made it thru but, I didn't have much of any brakes (the pedal went to the floor, on the way to the staging area)
...nope, no snow, it was a beautiful sunny day & the temp was ~80*
,,,no, Ducky is always...Ducky
...nope, just sniffed 'em

Wadda ya mean, ya had no brakes
...please elaborate

Well, I wasa drivin' down to the staging area & everything seemed fine
...but, probably the 4th or 5th time that I applied the brakes, the pedal just went straight to the floor (or fender)

So, I plopped my foot down onto the ground
...& just applied the 'ol Flintstone type of brakes

It seemed ta work OK so, "on with the show"

When I got parked in the staging area & had a break from folks looking at it
...I crawled under & took a look

I figured the set screw holding the brake cable onto the brake band "let go"
...but, actually found that the brake drum had moved/slid over a bit

I guess someone forgot ta tighten the set screw, that locks it, in place

Of course I didn't bring a set of Allen wrenches with me
...so, I improvised & used a zip tie (came with the flags that they gave out to the participants) ta help hold 'er in place

...but, I wasa still kinda paranoid about 'em goin' out again
...so, I figured it was best that I didn't try & hold the camera & record, while running in the parade (which SUCKED)

After the parade & as everything was winding down I went ahead & took the 'wittle 'wesistor for a ride around the downtown area
...& recorded a bit of video

Started 'er off with a short build compilation slide show
...& then, on to the ride

I used hose class like that before. It was actually just for the key. The set screw kept coming loose so I used a hose clamp to hold the key

...what does that even mean?

Well, I designed & installed dual brake pedals.

Here is the lay-out

The front/Aluminum pedal is in the standard location (right next to the throttle pedal)
...& the intermediate/black one protrudes, outside of the body


* In nice weather, many Jeep owners ride with their left foot outside of the vehicle, on the running board
...& others have installed a peg, to rest their foot on

So, instead of just a "peg"
...I made 'er into a brake pedal

This way I could ride "Jeep style" & still have access to the brakes

...& the pedal went to the floor
...the intermediate pedal went to the fender
