That was a useless link. I was hoping they would shed some light on the advantage of a belt driven centrifugal clutch. Easier to replace a belt instead of messing with chain links and stretched chains. Lower powered engines are probably okay with that setup.Is it a real CVT or just a rudimentary "gear reduction"? Never seen one configured with just 1 variable sheave pulley and 1 fixed pulley. Why not just use a jackshaft? Just wanted some theorizing.

Follow up on the jack shaft - it’s junk. I’m planning on replacing it with a chain and sprocket. The drive wheel has a 60T sprocket. What size sprocket is recommended for the engine side of the jack shaft?So far I have been unable to pull the pulley off. The jack shaft was seized up. Got it to move but not freely. Looks like I may have to replace it.

12T sprocket.Depends on what is turning the jackshaft from the engine. what's the plan there?
