something like this, except with pillow block bearings and 1" square tubing welded on strategically instead of steel plate.

there's a million different ways you can do it. just be smart and make it strong and reliable. LOTS of info out there on google and this site to help you. you just gotta look for it and be smart with your key words when searching.

Yes I search and search but can never seem to find what I am looking for.

Awesome pic, it's just what I needed....now sprockets, pillow bearings, locking collars, I have a 54t 40/41 axle sprocket, thinking 10t on jackshaft. why did you put the locking collars where you put them, what type of pillow bearings did you use, I looked on McMaster Carr and there are tons of them. I've never done this before so I kind of need every step...ty

oh, crap, i didn't see that. yeah, you can't use a T2 30 series torque converter on a 13hp motor. you'll be burning up belts left and right, unless you gear it for like 20 mph. lol. time to drop the big bucks and get a 40 series. there's usually a decent deal on them on ebay. :)

27mph isn't really that slow when you're off-roading it. but yeah, i'd try to get it up to around 35mph top speed. that'll still give you a good speed/torque ratio.

would you use an 11hp motor with the T2 30?

but it's rated for 8-13 hp motors, why not 11HP?

We have spoken about this before. These companies say that they are rated for 13 HP, but all they are is copies of genuine comet tc's. Genuine comet 30 series are only rated for 8 HP.

We find that people are fooled time and again by this false advertising, and they regret it afterwards. Everyone is telling you to go the 40 series option for a reason. We have seen people come off second best. I think mysteryboy even posted his tale of woe in your thread concerning these tc's (post #121)

ok, I will take the advice of the group, and wait for the TC3 40 series to come out of production. 20 to 30 days hopefully.
Thank you all again.

No need to wait, there are a few 40 series torque converters on ebay for semi-reasonable prices. Expect to pay around $200, as they are a different animal than the 30 series.

Also, be sure that the driven clutch has a 3/4" bore, as the 5/8 ones are a little too skimpy and prone to bending the shaft (as well as there not really being enough "meat" for the 3/16" key to bite into).

I am wait for this model to come out of production. It's new to the market, and have never seen anything like it on ebay.
