Oh Ya Denny that is a good point there Ill also be cleaning that as well I might even eliminate it all together with a small piece of tubing, but I don't want to get too carried away on this engine so it can be reliable and solid..

wood paneling ha that's good! but I doubt it maybe crushed velvet and a shag carpet lol no not really. but I think I have decided on orange and black with yellow accents to match my full size van.

Cleaned up the engine and centrifugal oil filter, installed the new oil pump and set up the auto clutch. I decided to leave the top end for another project as this one still has good compression and works pretty well for this Vankart. Slapped some paint on it so its all set up and ready to be installed.
Cheers!

With all the sanding cleaning and polishing pretty much done its time to get this Vankart back together. Its not the right orange I was going for but its close enough,Tremclad real orange is really close but I hate working with oil based paint so I opted for the krylon it drys fast and can be recoated without sanding if need be.

Excellent! You are doing great work.

"Well, he whopped me on the back and he says, “Buddy, have a drink!” “Well,” I says, “I believe I will have another big orange.” And I got it and set back down."

LOL Shiny side up!
Said the guy who almost rolled it on a test Drive.
LOL :roflol:well theres that but...
Thats what testing is to me its all about, pushing the limits so you can find weak areas and try to improve or regulate certain areas before you totally finalize your design. Again Sorry , wear your PPE KIDS....

I too wanted to join the build off contest....
but felt I was too far ahead in April and didn't bother. Now it seems that I too meet the requirements. No actual fabrication was started prior to Feb 2016 and my build thread is proof. This is a scratch build and I still have lots more to go.

Well what do you Guys and Girls think..........

Or should I wait till next year as to not Rock the Boat too much.

I do not mind Either.
But I was chomping at the bit and waiting impatiently for the build to start, Before I started my entry.
This Forum could use a shot in the arm lately so "the more the merrier"
and
I think the "Rumor" is there "may" be categories this time rather than 1 WINNER.
So go for it! Worst they could do is say NO, that would "Rock the boat"
