I just got this home yesterday. It used to be mine. I did a little to it then sold it to a coworker. He did a little then had to sell it. I wanted to at least be able to drive it before it was gone so I bought it back. Hoping to sell at a profit after having a little fun first.

Threw on a set of free, 15" used tires just to be able to drive it. Those are hard to find...that's why they're so tiny...it's all I could find.

as for the rubbing i havent checked where it is yet. i heard from the ford truck forum i need to get aftermarket camber bushings for any lift, even a 3 inch spacer. (i have ttb axle)

since ill be using the truck for carrying things also, i think a 2 inch block under the rear leaf spring should be good enough. the back is much higher than the front

people are telling me to just get a full 4" lift kit, but those are over $1,000 as opposed to a 3 inch spacer that's under $100.

and as for body lifts, it would be a LOT of work. id have to raise the bumpers, change the radiator mounts, modify the 4x4 shifter linkage, extend the steering shaft, unmount the cab and bed and put spacers under them, and my shifter would be lower in the floor

Thanks guys! 1970 F100 completely rebuilt 360 and C4. Won't shift to 3rd and the steerings loose. I'm working on that today when I get off. One of my many projects. It's only the go-kart garage that has the one project enter - one project leave rule. LOL

you might laugh at me... but i am seriously considering putting a TURBO in this truck. lots of room now!

saw a forum where a guy did it... he had 230HP and 451 ft/lbs 15lbs boost. stock is.... 145?hp and 260 lb ft

not sure how complicated it is to set one up. or the cost either...

EDIT: looks like it would be pretty complicated, id need a computer... and route the exhaust into the turbo/?

You cant pump 15lbs into a stock engine without building it up to handle that much boost. A safe range for an origionally Naturally Aspirated engine is about 5-7 psi, once you go higher you have to lower compression, re tune, run premium fuel, and address other things like your fuel pump, larger injectors, cooling, etc. Leave the motor stock and just drive it till it dies.

yeah i dont know what i was thinking lol. its not simple as i first thought, ive seen someone with a turbo they slapped on a scooter, i guess its more complicated in a car.

fowler might be right about the steering/tilt thing. or maybe even parking brake or something to do with the lights or wipers?

mine doesnt have steering wheel adjustments. and thats an 89. if it was steering tilt, i wonder why they wouldnt have it 20 years later? technology should be going forward. but thats not always true (if it was a bad design they may have just got rid of it)

It was optional as far back as '78 I believe, it just wasn't frequently purchased.

I have no idea on what it is, but for some reason i seem to think maybe an adjustable brake pedal. that little uprose picture seems to remind me of the one on my adjustable brake pedal button

It's not for a load base bias valve

I did and they were kind of ****s to me and I'm not even a new member there. But it was my fault...aparently linking to pics hosted here are nor viewable to them there

Anyway, a buddy and Ford NUT at work figured it out. It's the neutral safety switch. Goes on TOP of the column where I couldn't see where it went....Carry on

It prevents the engine from being started while the trans is in gear. I would think your truck would have one. I know the older manual trannies didn't have them

last time i checked a neutral safety switch was only used on a automatic transmission. the only switch that i know a standard transmission has is a back-up light switch.
