Ok guys I'm new here and I have a question.i have a 11 hp engine with 1" shaft.im using a 40 series torque converter,her is my situation.with what way I had to move mounting plate over for this engine to fit Now in order to line up driver and driven the driver clutch on the engine is not completely flush on the engine I had to put a spacer on the Shaft first to move the driver over a little in order for everything to line up will this hurt anything

Just remember that you need the correct belt for whatever your center to center distance is(driver and driven center)

ok i am inserting pics of the torque converter sitting away from engine out on shaft..is this safe also since this is a 40 series do i need support om the left side of driven as well or will this work

Just make a spacer the right length out of tube or pipe. (not a STACK of washers) Get a longer bolt to hold it all on and your set! Nice looking TC.....

im sorry is the support on my driven on the right side coming from my engine plate enought support for all the tourque

is the driven clutch facing the right way? if i'm not mistaken, the 40 series driven faces the opposite way. i know it does on my kart...

I though it did not matter which way the driven pull was mounted.i have seen both in both directions..would it not do the same either way

Yeah, I think it does matter to certain extent. There is a wound up spring in there that I think is only gonna work properly with it facing the other way.....
I'm no TC expert, so I didn't catch it being on backwards. Oops....

If that is the case then I have a problem.once the rpm get high it will open up and hit the sprocket.and I could bring it out more but I would have to bring out the driver as well and it will be sitting to far out on the Shaft

Are you talking about the pulley sitting on your jackshaft?
I think they are only talking about you having to flip the "driven" unit (the one that sits in the engine).
Might have to change some other things to make it all align tho.

No the driver is on the engine the driven is on the jackshaft.i have done some research I can use the driven the way it sits but I must order a new spring that is reversed wound for it to work like I have it in the picture

Sorry about that. I am by no way an expert in torque converters, so I'm sorry about mixing the terminology of some of the parts

Then there should not be a problem with your installation

Before you go ordering springs, can you relocate the axle sprocket and Jackshaft sprocket to the other side of the engine to make more room?

i thought about that tonight relocating the sprocket to the other side but threr is no key groove on that side
