Fish mouth? Tube notchers are very common, most can be used with a drill press or hand drill.

if you have the patience a hand file would work. Chop saw doesnt sound like it would be very precise IMO
Just curious, I have been using a chop saw to birt mouth my pipe, it is not easy to get a nice bird mouth from a chop saw, so does anyone anywhere sell a tool specifically used for it? thanks
use a dremel?
wow that is an AWESOME tool!!! I'll have to measure my desktop drill press to see if I can put it on what I have. Yep spent the evening notching tubing with an angle grinder...sucks.
I don't think most dremels are designed to cut that thick steel. JMO.
But where would you pick one up at?
There is a very easy way to fish mouth pipe that my buddy taught me. You can do it with your chop saw. Cut the pipe straight to start, then cut two angles so you have ~1/4" straight on the end, and two angles back at about 33 degrees. This should fit fairly well, use your grinder to perfect. (the measurements i gave are for 1-2 inch pipe, other sizes use faithful old trial and error)
