Just curious, I have been using a chop saw to birt mouth my pipe, it is not easy to get a nice bird mouth from a chop saw, so does anyone anywhere sell a tool specifically used for it? thanks

Cut on band saw, cut two corners off and use a drum sander. Fish mouthing tubes Is done in many ways, but this Is the most basic. Can be done with chop saw. It's the second cut that need more exacting . Grind fit grind fit grind fit, this why chassis shops charge by the hour and the job.

I just bought one of those and the $22.00 1/2 drill to keep mounted on it.

He knows how to fish mouth, he just needs a tool which would give a him a cleaner cut and make it easier to get a good clean cut.

Yeah I know that thread says it works pretty well... I haven't actually tried the paper thing but it looks like a fairly quick way

There is a very easy way to fish mouth pipe that my buddy taught me. You can do it with your chop saw. Cut the pipe straight to start, then cut two angles so you have ~1/4" straight on the end, and two angles back at about 33 degrees. This should fit fairly well, use your grinder to perfect. (the measurements i gave are for 1-2 inch pipe, other sizes use faithful old trial and error:thumbsup:)

get the Harbor Freight notcher, it's cheap, especially with a 20% off coupon, you can put virtually any size hole saw on it to have a perfect mate with the other pipe
