Lol guess its time to pop clutch and bust out a doughnut! Lol no but in all seriousness, its not that bad since i modified the steering angle to get the wheels as close to the frame without rubbing to increase the turning radius.

As for gearing, i dont plan on using bigger tires..... But if i have to, i will. Its a street kart with hopefully enough power to drift. I used the calculator and it said that i SHOULD get up to 71 with it..... 14/45 @8500rpm but i doubt it cause the weight. You never know though

Also got chain fit to length and live axle installed for good. These are my clearances..... Lets hope for best! :)

Ill do a video of first start and ride to seat rings and break in cylinder :)

Ackerman? That would have made your turning radius much better. Too late now. Doh!

A SHORTER WHEELBASE (from front to back) will improve your turning radius, not having the wheels closer to the frame. Your kart is awfully long. Lack of Ackerman geometry, long wheel base... those are recipes for difficult turning. I'd chalk this one up as a "learning" kart, and make the new and improved version as soon as you can get the materials. You can make the next one sweet looking too!

You got me all wrong lol
I built the kart specifically this way for a reason.... 1 reason only. To drift.

I know how stance works, how wheelbase works, how tire pressure works, all of that ****, i wasnt born yesterday. I have been in the drift scene for quite awhile now and i know how good of a drift car the vehicle will be depending if it has modded knuckles, how long the wheelbase is, how wide the stance is, how much power it has and blah blah blah.

With the kart, its not that i moved the wheels inside toward the frame, its that i cut off the steering lock bolts to where it can angle the wheels further, catching a spinout instead of being at full lock and spinning...... I angled it as far as i can without the wheels rubbing the frame......
As for the stance, i widened the rear so it will be more stable during the drift and transitions will be alot smoother rather than being snappy.... If i could do the front, i would but i dont feel like messing with the front right now.....

As for wheelbase, i made it super long to have more momentum in rear to get the *** end around and keep the angle going..... Simple physics. For example..... My miata is a **** ton harder to drift than a 240sx would be because ofthe wheelbase..... 240's are much longer, therefore it takes less power to keep angle compared to the miata which would need more power in order to maintain angle and its transistions will be alot snappier.

The kart im building is a '240' kart, not a 'miata' kart ;)

Get it now?

Hooked a string up to my buddies mazda 3 and had him pull me around the block..... Holy tits! Felt solid! Only bad thing i saw was that turning was super sensitive. My neighbor told me to put a dampener in there..... Ima ty it without one first..... Also needs some kind of bucket seat or seat belt, i was flying all over when turning but overall, the kart felt fantastic! :)

Now this ****er needs to finish cylinder..... I think he broke it :/ been over a month to hone it to a 125..... Wtf bro. Shoulda taken an hour at MOST! Not a month.

The rule of thumb with seatbelts is that if you have a rollcage, get a safety belt to avoid being crushed by the roll cage when you crash. You are held tight. If you don't have a roll cage, then don't get a safety belt, cos you want to be thrown clear if you do crash. You don't want to be underneath strapped in if it flips.

Anyone will tell you the same. What you can do is get that bucket seat you were talking about..

Nooo, the link is not working. Is this just me? I really wanted to see this kart running. Nice job on the build though.
