progress.

so it was my first time greasing a bearing.... like taking apart and greasing it, not just spraying it...... bad mistake, used to skateboard bearings where there is a plastic coupler that holds all the balls..... not on this sprocket there wasn't....... all balls flew out and yeah, time for a new freewheel :/

on the good side, most of motor mount is done..... just wanna finish welding all the way around so it will be stiff.......

painted.
?

thats about it...... time was not on my side today :/

I think the theory of the extra engine has some weak points. Not flaming but the simple fact of the diff between 2 and 4 stroke. While the 4 stroke is revving the 2 will be a drag as its not at its peak, and likewise when the 2 stroke hits peak it will be dragged down by the limits of the 4 stroke. imo not worth the fabrication headache.

Take those hubs and drill them to fit! and on the boosted idea, take gearbox from origional engine and use the gearing to run a tiny stock t25 turbo if you want a kick, being shaft driven it wont push too much boost to kill engine, or use a stock intercooler from 300zx or similar(8"x10") to cool air and use co2 can and a line to spray the intercooler and chill the air. I had a few ridiculous projects in mu day. lol

X2

Not worth the extra fab. Not sure if you're aware, but that 2 stroke appears to have a 5:1 reduction gearbox on it?

Brace that engine mount!

Nice project, motorbike engines are 62546x nicer on a kart than industrial engines, you should be able to drift it quite well in the lower gears with some crappy tires, I think you might have a bit to much wheelbase though!

Thanks

technically the 2 stroke WON'T be a drag..... the sprocket will act like an idler pulley on a car when its being pulled...... when its pushing, it will take the load off of the 110 so the 110 can operate smoother.... anyways, i think im going to ditch the 2nd engine and possibly make an rc car or somethin lol....

..... just gonna order new rear wheels, same size but just meant for a live axle..... same thing for brakes

eh, turbo kit is too much work for a tiny motor like this.

not too familiar with gearing..... care to explain?

i will, not done welding yet..... even right now its rock solid lol....

i said the same thing about the wheelbase........ lol its the only way that the engine could actually fit lmao.

anyways, no progress til wednesday..... gonna go out buy flux core welder and do some work that night

welp, did the math on the motors themselves....... its not going to work that i KNOW of.... although there MIGHT be one way for it to.

check it.

my 47cc that i have produces max power 3.35hp @ 8,700rpm and max torque 2.36 @ 8,000
the 110 that i have produces 7.772hp @ 8500rpm

it was in kw so i had to convert it and the torque was in n/m

IF i powershift it [where you stay on the throttle, grab the clutch, shift and release]..... the rpm's will stay up at 8700 on the 2 stroke pushing the 110 a little bit but nowhere near big enough for a significant power gain.

got the 2 stroke started. sounds beastin but still, don't think it will do anything...... can always downgrade though! so ima try it, if it fails, pull it, cut the chain and run 4 stroke only :D

also, thanks for the heads up. it has a fuel pump BUT doesn't suck enough fuel to put it in the higher RPM's, so i tried to gavity feed it and it worked flawlessly at higher rpms so maybe it just needed tuning. who knows..... prolly needed to be richened up a bit.

I like the concept, but as someone above said, it wont work in your favour when you get it beyond the 4 strokes rev range. If it can? Since the 47cc ((whipper snipper (Australian name for a weedwhacker))lol whatever it is) will be forced to accelerate the 110 further, if the 110 is at its theoretical maximum speed then the extra power will have to overcome the force of the 110 turning in order to provide any sort of gain. I'm pretty sure that you said you realised this a post or two above me anyway. I felt like talking I guess :D

i can sorta see where u are going here
the 50cc "shareing" the load as to allow the 110 to build revs faster
it would never increase top speedd of the 110 but it would help the acceloration

all in theory of couse
after seeing some odd creations being built and working id like to see a test of this theory

but it would require alot more fine tuning and the chance of somthing going beyond its limit and binding up is very high

That's a reall nice job, I have the same kart that I'm giving to my little brother for his birthday. I was wondering how I'd convert it to a live axle and mount a 6.5hp on it, and this helped me out alot, thanks man.

Thats the only thing that i was worried about as well but its centered with the axle so when the wheels jump offthe ground, so will the sprocket and brake disc. Only thing i should be worried about though are rocks and the lane bumps.

Might just get bigger wheels lol

When i get bored of this motor, im prolly going to redo the rear end with a HD motor :) lol now that will be fun.

Don't forget that getting larger tyres might mean regearing
