Sorry... But which one is Sammy. the snake, snail, lizard, coon, cat??? I had one of my chickens chase off my father in laws Chiwawa on Sat. The little bugger kept barking at the chicken, So the chicken rushed it and the dog ran away so fast. I was laughing. But I guess this big red hen is twice the size!

Sammy is that wild long haired gray cat.....

On another note: I haven't seen near enough of these; they're called "dragonflies" .....but they ought to be called "mosquito terminators".....

IDKY.....I thought of something this afternoon.....(I guess maybe because I almost cooked when I got in the truck this afternoon....

At work many years ago a caught a small western fence lizard....(one of the early transplants).....that wasn't much bigger than the two in the pic a few posts back.....

I put it in one of those waxy paper fountain drink cups and set him out of the way until quitting time.....I got in my truck....and set the cup into my coffee mug in the console....

Drove about a mile down the road and decided to check on it.....it was stone dead!!!!

It then dawned on me I had cooked him ....that fountain drink fit perfectly and conveniently in that coffee mug....but that was an insulated coffee mug....and it was over 140° in that truck.....

I fell terrible.....I took the little limp guy out and massaged his chest with my thumb....then pried his little mouth open and put him out the window at 40 mph.....to force air in his lungs and cool his overheated body down....

I did this for several minutes....(back and forth)....and to my surprise he recovered and I let him go when I got home......

Saw him several months later ....much bigger and doing fine.....

Hmmm. I don't want to call you a liar but that does sound like an Uncle Si story. We rescued a lizard from a mess of bird netting last month. He acted dead the whole time, then once he was freed and on the ground he sat there a minute then took off.

Nope....it's all true....and that lizard was hot and not breathing....without resuscitation...it stood no chance.....and another minute (maybe less) that wouldn't have helped.....

Hmmmm.....so I've been researching chicken care and legalities....and I came across this:

"If you have kids...just get them to run around the yard making chicken sounds....now the neighbors just think it's the kids when they hear the chickens"...:roflol:

Wonder if that would work with gokarts?:lolgoku:

:smiley_omg:What.....? LCPR?
( Lizard Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation ):roflol:

Yep....that's exactly what I did.... While not dead...I also rescued a barn owl that a woman found in a horse trough from severe hypothermia....it was so far gone....we could barely get a stimulus response....

When I first saw it....I told her it was dead...but she insisted it had moved...she didn't know what to do....Fortunately, she had everything she needed...a cage, a towel, an eyedropper, and milk....

I told her to wrap it in the towel and give it small doses of warm milk with the eyedropper....after a half hour or so...it was conscious and semi-mobile....

I took it home and cared for it....after 3 days...it was eating raw meat...and then got mean!!!! I had to net it ..(I had it loose in the house)...I put it in a box and took it back to the farm...opened the box and....off it went....which made me and the woman whom I was building a log cabin for very happy....

EDIT: Found a pic...this was just before I netted it for release....(you can see it's ears back....and the meanness in its face....

Okay Doug I have one for you.....
Last year this happened. My wife starts yelling my name, then tells me to go in the bathroom. She seems to be distraught and tells me to look in the toilet. I told her I was not falling for that... She then says " what is that in the toilet? " ( our toilet is black by the way).

I look in there and said " it's a turd"
she says " but I peed, I didn't poop".

I look closer and saw a little eye blink at me:smiley_omg: OMG there was a chipmunk sitting almost lifeless in the commode and my wife peed on him:ack2:

I reached in there ( with gloves ) put him in a blanket to stop or prevent hypothermia from setting in and about 30 minutes later he had had enough strength to bite me and scamper off - without a thanks.

That's what they do....the third least thankful creatures behind women and children....are wild critters..someone remind me....why do we give them first seats on the lifeboats?
