YES A whole bunch of stupid laws. My 79cc predator is actually illegal here!
Rain gutters are required on new homes and the down spouts must empty into something called a "bio filtration basin". Because the rain water (As if it rains here) coming off the roof is somehow dirty? Arrrgh
I like to joke around about Texans just for fun but Ca is a joke! But the weather here has me too spoiled to move.

This last acquisition actually has me thinking about doing a build....it will be an "ultralight" ....if I do it....

I've already got a lot of irons in the fire.....and not much moola.....

OK...Harvested some 'Fooled You' jalapenos and some 'Large Red Cherry' tomatoes....jeeze....I'll say they're large.....

Anyway....this is the upside of all the flooding rains we got.....

Sooooooo.....9 quarts and counting.....gotta dump some gasoline outta some quart jars.....and I can pickle up more......WHAT?..... These aren't YOUR. peppers.....

Seriously...I have been using some of my canning jars to catch gas.....BUT!!!!! .....a little gas residue.....(which ain't happening......) is much better than a little bit of bacterial infection.....but I can deal with either......

Anyway.....probably got a couple of jars or more to go

Anyway.....so as I'm dumping this gas on my neighbors fenceline weeds.....I notice a chicken on the fence......

Well....a few days back....I tried to help a little Mexican boy catch some chickens.....his dad came home and said.....:"Oh....it's OK...they run around ,but they know. where they live....I thought really? ...Good luck with that.....

So anyway....this one eyed chicken apparently forgot where it lives....It could have been supper as easily as a pet....but for right now....it is a pet....

So....new pet : one eyed chicken.....name to follow....

BTW: Very nice lap pet.......

OK....so.....onions didn't do so well....but ....wow ....these are cherry tomatoes.....and it looks like these "Roma" type tomatoes are going to be huge as well.....

Caught a one eyed chicken in my neighbor's backyard yesterday.....after letting it spend some time in my lap .....it spent the night in a pet carrier and I let it go in the garden.....

After I snapped this picture....I came up to it called it and gave it some bird seed....and it came right up and started eating.....

I'm hoping it at least spends the day hunting bugs there....I'll go out in a little while and give it another snack to make it feel at home....

Thanks....twice today I thought I might not be.....couldn't find the chicken and thought it went home......

After searching the backyard unsuccessfully.....I went out later calling for it...after nearly circling the yard....I heard it call back and found it coming from wherever it was hiding to meet me....

The second time....it didn't answer or show...(although I thought I heard it answer once.....despite my calling)....another trip around later....I spotted it....now armed with chicken scratch (feed).....I gave it another snack.....

On a different note.....I heard an ad on the radio for a restaurant serving fried green tomatoes.....ohhhhhh.....yeah....IDKY....but I forgot about those....and my big tomatoes are loaded with BIG green tomatoes.....I'll be eating some tomorrow! !!!!!!!!

I have 5 Chickens. But Doug, How do you "call" a chicken??
BTW that particular breed you have got there is called a Bard Rock, They are very docile and great lap pets. My little boy used to sit with one on his lap and pet it and talk to it even when he was 3 yrs old. 3 yr olds are rambunctious and Chickens are... well, chicken. So for a chicken it really is a nice pet.

Yeah....I actually figured that out today ....although I thought it was "Barred Rock".....anyway....biggest difference being "Plymouth Rocks" having feathered feet.....and this guy doesn't.....

And my grandparents had a ranch.....(mimicking a chicken's call....):....."Heeeereeee chick chick chick......heeeereeeee chick chick chick.....".....you can throw in a chicken imitation as well.....:" Bock bock bock baa....buck buck....bock bock bah....

No joke My little girls first word at 10 months was bock bock!
My wife can get our chickens to come over to her by tapping her finger nails on the ground. The chickens must think or hear that she is pecking at something on the ground they can eat. I have one that will chase a golf ball if you roll it past her.
