They surely can't sell such things that don't shut off automatically anymore, do they? I thought the risk of being sued had forced every device to shut off at the most inconvenient moment.

Anyway...I was talking about a Whataburger earlier....and I still recommend them...but I got to wondering: what makes a Whataburger a Whataburger?

Well first: Whataburgers come with yellow mustard. Now with the toasted bun with butter....amd ESPECIALLY the chopped fresh onions...it MIGHT have explained that really signature taste.

Then...I Googled up Whataburger mustard! !!! Holy crap Batman ....that's it...

Well....I went to Central Market and got a bottle of Whataburger mustard. Made a sandwich with it....OH BABY! That's the ticket!

I went to Wal-Mart and spent $19 for a programmable coffee maker. I'm going to offer the $17 one to the auto shop manager tomorrow. They have the exact same one in black and mine's white...so I made a "DECAF" label if there interested I'll just give it to them. If not...and I can't think of anyone who might use it...I'll probably just rebox it and put it in a Salvation Army collection box.

That way at Christmas...I can tell the bell ringer I gave at the office.

Well, this kinda ticks me off...I won't go into details, but I ordered some rotors on Amazon and less than an hour later, tried to cancel them.....

"We will try to cancel your order, but can't guarantee that we can. because....IT'S BEING PREPARED FOR SHIPMENT? ?????"

Are you frigging kidding me???? Got a so sorry Email saying they couldn't stop it. EXCUSE ME? I still haven't received an Email confirmation of shipment! !!

You are supposed to be able to cancel BEFORE the item ships. This is $120+ shipping! Hmmmmm.....if it was a $10 order I'll bet it coulda been stopped!

I HATE THAT!
Same thing happened to me once. I don't remember the details. I think it was with BMI.
Funny I ordered Saturday. cancelled in minutes, The warehouse processed the order. but the office staff did not get the cancellation till after 8 am Monday. Sorry too late!

But it is nice to know how fast they can work, especially when your waiting on parts!

Tell me that is not yours!

Oh yeah....the one I've only had and driven a short while. Now here's the funny thing : it stopped fine, never made any noise , and just started pulsing on the brake pedal....(and nearly wheel hopping on that side)....

NOW.....How cool is that 4wheel drive? ?? Sheesh...gotta disassemble the whole hub and rent a special socket just to change a rotor....ummmm...slide off...slide on ....2 minutes on your average 2 wheel drive!

---------- Post added at 11:05 PM ---------- Previous post was at 10:42 PM ----------

BTW: I'm fairly confident I can handle this....(even though I don't even really know how to use the 4 wheel drive yet...much less worked on one...but no sooner did I get the wheel off this thing ...and it started raining and it will until Tuesday!

I did about 6 flushes with plain water until it got pretty clear, then put in Prestone flush...took it for a pretty good little trip and let it idle for quite a while and it never got above a little over 1/4 ...going to run the flush several days (after I get the brakes done) ...flush the heel out of it with plain water again....then repeat the Prestone...then flush the bejabbers out with plain water....then do a 50/50 antifreeze...if it does ok, I may hold off on the fan clutch until I get ready to do more work in the engine compartment.

Meanwhile, this stinking rain isn't going to make working in the dirt on my back to change the rear end fluid a joy!

Again: after I get the truck going....I need to to do a fluid and filter change in the Escorts transaxle....I got a quote $175- $190!!!! ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? So...time to crawl under it and DIY! (My neighbor is rebuilding his lift right now...so...no gravy for a little while!

I just checked the weather on my phone and its not supposed to start raining again until this evening so I can work on my truck!

---------- Post added at 07:27 AM ---------- Previous post was at 06:37 AM ----------

Here's a laundry list of to do's on that truck: (some of which are from the mechanic and some from me:
Change rear diff fluid.
Brakes
Motor mount (possibly trans too)
Battery tie down (has the wrong battery, so I'll get the factory set-up and rig something for now until this battery dies)

Power steering fluid flush, (additive, and if that doesn't silence the pump, replacement)

Clean coolant reservoir
Flush brake fluid
Change oil
Top off clutch reservoir
Change oil pan gasket
Change valve cover gasket
Change fan clutch
Change fluid in transfer case
Change fluid in trans
Repair heater flap actuator line
Figure out how the evap canister is supposed to be hooked up and do

Shim drivers side door and replace strike
Replace headliner
Tighten up rattling dash
Replace fuel tank switch
Replace gas guage
One turn signal indicator light.(but I'm going LED with the main bulbs...so...)
Replace driver's side interior door handle
Replace ignition switch
Remove passenger interior door panel, tighten mirror, replace bulb, missing screws, and those plastic stud things

Replace headliner
Fix small crack in dash pad
Adjust hood latch
Obtain spare tire and put it in carrier
Purchase and install aftermarket reciever hitch
Cut down and install tool box
Fabricate and install rack
Fiberglass work in several places
Make headlights clear
Install steering wheel cover
Replace hood light
Replace broken ashtray and fix broken console lid
Widen bottom of tailgate opening and close top.
Remove leftover adhesive from missing window shields
Possibly straighten whatever and replace front bumper (probably won't)
Paint (Probably won't...other than repair areas)
Replace a hundred missing screws! ! (I swear.....someone changed out the right rear taillight lens....4 screws...4 SCREWS!!!!!! Now there's only 3?????)

As you can see....some are cosmetic, some are for my needs, and some are necessary pretty quickly.

I think you should be able to get that all done before the rain starts. But what are you going to do the rest of the day?
