I loaded it with 150lbs and rode around with it in the back, trying to get it to slosh around and break something...

I think my original goal of 30lbs is perfectly safe. ill slap some paint on it and a lid, and call it a day until the ol' tablesaw is up and running again. then I can build a better box that looks a lot nicer, maybe some teak and mahogany... oh those pulleys I bought sucked one straight up broke, and they are on their way back for my refund.

Oh, and WHO NEEDS A WELDER.. psshu. bolts FTW. :lolgoku:

I bought lock nuts for all the bolts.. and I thought they where all the same size, I had ONE! one that was like a size up from the rest! URGH people who mix those boxes really piss me off. so I just used a regular nut and some loctite..

IT looks weird on the back too, I'm thinking of sewing up some soft bags and attaching them to the sides/over the muffler to kinda get rid of the "weird" look it has. but Idc. Its good enough to lug around an icechest.

oh nvm I think you're talking about the seat.. context clues? lmao

Yeah it was good when I first made it, used yoga mat foam, was really good actually, but it took set over time and shifted the foam around.. been wanting to re-do it, but finding a good source of high density foam to buy locally has been kinda tough. I learned more about what makes a seat good for sitting by just trial and error. and some tips and tricks.

For example. I can make a seat pan again, but instead of making it a solid board, to cut out the center pieces where your hips and tail bone make contact, and add some nylon webbing, to give it some move room. Also up front, going to add some rubber or something that should help with vibrations. I'm also willing to give the seat more height overall, so that means more foam I can use.

U guys have no idea how a 200+ mile day turned into a whole weeks worth of pain. my thighs/butt hurt so badly, and oh god the neck pain.. urgh. [tall wind screen coming soon...]

Just another day fishing

So....this happened a few years back....

I was fishing in my tube under a freeway bridge when I spotted a floating wallet. I retrieved it and when I got home a neighbor and I emptied the contents out, (I didn't want all the pictures and stuff to dry and stick together) .

So...this wallet belonged to a woman who lived about 30 miles away...and I started calling people with that last name in that town....but couldn't find her. Finally, someone knew her, and told me to call the police, because she had been murdered.

Her body had been found at that town's lake. I told the detective that besides my fingerprints, they would also find my neighbors and we were just trying to save the contents, and had both figured it just blew off a boat.

I wound up riding to that town with that detective...and while we were out near the lake...something came over the radio....I couldn't make it out. The detective looked over and said: "You don't know what that was, do you?" I said no. He said: "We have an older officer, that doesn't see that well, and he just wrecked his patrol car on the dam road."

I swear, you can't make this stuff up.

And you said "really?", and he said "yeah, his ex-wife is this crazy broad who has control issues and won't let him wear his glasses. You gonna eat them fish?"
"Yes, Sir."
"I'm a big tartar sauce fan, myself. That crazy broad used to have this truck... man that thing saw some stuff."

This is not a joke....I've been right on the edge of 5 murders. The furthest removed was an aquaintance of mine in high school....who's date was kidnapped on prom night and raped and killed. He tried to stop them, but they shot him in the head with a pellet pistol. It was enough to stop him, but he always felt a little guilty and responsible for not protecting her.

Then one of my best friend's body was found shot in the head with a .22 in another remote area in another small town area. He weighed 80 lbs., so he had been dead for quite a while. ASFAIK....Neither of those murders were ever solved.

Then two of my homeroom acquaintances were found murdered at a nearby lake...I was illegally duck hunting and shooting off a shotgun about 100 yards away as 10 cops and sherriff officers, ect....were investigating the crime scene. That murderer was caught and prosecuted when they found his prints on a beer bottle....It was assumed to be a drug deal gone sour.

Then the previously described incident. Again, never heard much more about it..They were supposed to bring divers out to search the area I found the wallet, because some other items had never been recovered. I assume that was never solved.

Personally, a distant relative was murdered in the past and never solved.

Now...just very recently, another distant relative has been murdered...which is what jarred my memory of the past murders. Another drug related thing....this was a relative by marriage, and she kicked him out because of drug use and he got killed on the streets.

This may all get deleted because it's kinda outside the forum platform....but it's just truth and reality...and if you don't live right, be careful, and sometimes ....just be lucky....it can all be over on an instant....sad to say....but the world is a dangerous place.

Wow that's heartbreaking to have so many murders happen to people you know... but I have one question.... did the sheriff let you keep the change you found in the deceased woman's wallet for the poboy fund?

Yeah...it was empty...(probably should have been a clue that maybe it wasn't accidentally lost?)

(roughly translates as helloooo girrrlzzzz)

Long time no see, wasn't it?!

Man, what a start for this year...
I've found my weapon of self destruction early this year...
And who'd thunk it'd be math!

Remember my broken (well apple 'update failed' -locked) iPhone?
this made me go yak shaving for while
and I eventually ended up in numbers theory;
and that opened a whole new box of madness;

This, for sane people, is as interesting as watching paint dry,
and I wouldn't have thought I'd be spending more than maybe a day or two of mentally doodling new (to me) mathematical concepts...
nearly six weeks later, here I am :(

Lesson learned, huh?!
I'll skip the details, since it really IS boring.
(for those that wonder... factoring large numbers... see?? you're bored already :D)

Anyways, after my wife complained about me drawing hyperbolas while eating,
and practically living on a diet of coffee, cigarettes and paracetamol..
it was time to stop.

And since Doug was talking about the downsides of drug abuse just earlier (kind of)...
THIS seems to be the right place for me to say "hello again " ;)

Oh....crap Alex!!! I knew you were going downhill......but Math? Man....you need to be careful with that stuff! It's highly addictive. I've seen those math heads on the streets in shabby clothes begging: "Hey bud, got a spare dollar so I can score a square root.....errr....I mean meal.

Seriously though, I really enjoyed math in school...(and it really can be fun and addictive)....and one of the reasons I scored 98% on my PSAT in math was because I enjoyed it....(for those that don't know what that means is: they compare your score on the test compared to scores of the whole country....so...that means I scored above 98% of the whole country....or....only 2% scored better.) For those of you that don't know what that means....you need to take a few remedial math classes at night school!!!!

---------- Post added at 05:17 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:45 AM ----------

Soooo....a couple of highlights from the birthday party. (Just to keep down the confusion, in case these posts get merged) ....Alex is my grandson's name, but it's also Itsids....

Anyway, one of Alex's favorite pastimes is lining his little cars up end to end....He takes great care to get them in a very straight line. Sometimes, he will start with the smallest, then work up to the largest, other times the largest to smallest....and sometimes, just mixes them up. Then, he'll pick out a spot big enough on a wall and carefully put them nose in against the baseboard side by side.

So....he grasps bumper to bumper traffic and has a future in valet parking.:lolgoku:

Anyway....this kid smiles all the time, but he growls when he's upset. He had a few cars on the table...(two came off his Sesame Street cake) and he was lining them up. A couple belonged to his older cousins and they were transformers. One of them thought it would be cool to show Alex they were....

Alex was not impressed, and immediately set about trying to restore the Mustang this moron had just mangled! He started growling as he couldn't get it back together right. Dad jumped in to help and promptly broke the passenger side door off....Grampa...(me) couldn't help...(transformers are above my pay grade at 58)....Oh...sometimes I get lucky and put them back right...but I'm happy if I can just get leathermans and road maps back to the way they were.

Sooooo....Alex was occupied for quite a while trying to straighten out the transformers....and even longer trying to figure out how to get the door to stay on that Mustang.

The other thing that was interesting is those sunglasses he got for a present. I had a pair of sunglasses when I came over...and I stuck one of the earpieces in my shirt neck to stash them. Alex got these sunglasses, and after wearing them awhile....started trying to stash them in his shirt...(just like grandpa!)

We're gonna have great fun in a couple of years!
