got the steering box partially mounted and took the header apart and rewelded it cuz the welds that were on it leaked really bad, heres a couple pics, header will be done and re mounted tomorrow and steering box brackets will be completely done.

shouldn't be an issue according to the requirements they sent there was nothing that said i couldn't groove my tires, there was a whole page just for mud and snow tires but nothing that said mine wouldn't pass. but if they don't ill slap on some rollers to get through inspection:D

i considered it but i didn't know if it would have been done in time and its really unfair to enter this rig into it as its not a go cart.

The contest was not limited to karts- mini buggies and buggies were allowed, in addition to other small vehicles. Having had a major role in drawing up the qualifying rules, I think I would have allowed this one. The only point of contention would have been the chassis itself, as the rules state. "4)No automobile, truck, SUV etc chassis allowed." That one was created to keep people from ripping the body off their mom's Subaru and calling it a buggy. Given the origin of this chassis and taking into consideration everything else involved in this project, I think I'd green-flag it and then leave it to the voting members to decide if it's "fair".

Either way, this is an awesome project!

got a couple things finished up today,

got the header all fixed up and flap wheeled down for the most part

steering shaft extended to fit up to the sami box

everything all put back together

haven't tore into the front bumper yet to rework it but i might start tonight, but i had a few people over on saturday night and found out the bed of this truck makes a really good mixing table for my whiskey haha

started wrapping the header tonight with titanium header wrap, 15 ft only got two pipes done....

but i did manage to add some bracing to the steering box mount

and built a hood scoop to help shove some cool air to the backside of the engine
